COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Le Lacroix Pétillant is the incarnation of traditional cider. It uses only one variety of apples and it reveals all its aromatic magnitude. Ideal for a Black Velvet, the softness of the product and its lack of bitterness gives it a great personality. The southern orientation of the orchard in addition to a typical local microclimate in St-Joseph-du-Lac favors the cultivation of quality apples.

Draught at EtOH. Yellow apple, honey, lemony notes, lightly sweet finish. Not bad, not great, maybe slightly on the boozy side.

Bottle (330 ml). As "Gabélianne". Clear pale yellow with a small quickly vanishing white head leaving little to no lacing. Aroma is floral and more pear-forward than apple but there’s also apple sauce and mild sugary notes. Taste is mild and floral with a mild sugary - but not sweet - presence, hints of pears and apple sauce. Light body. Lively carbonation, but the bubbles aren’t persistent and disappears as soon as it enter it contact with the tongue. Mild finish. Easy drinking and rather quenching. Could use a bit more acidity. Decent.

Blond doré. Son nez est de pommes en dessert et son goût est fruité, acidulé et, soit poivré, soit âcre. Ce n’est pas charmant au goût et à chaque gorgée, ça me surprend. Version à 6.5% (1622-091015)

pours unclear pale but bright yellow, some bubbles surfacing, disappearing. bright red apples, apple sauce, touch of caramel, flowery pears, honey indeed, light yet surprising sweetness, faint spices. lively carbonation - disturbing at first, light body, semi-sweet finish. sweetish ’’strong’’ cider - simple but more than decent.

Bottle. Pours a clear straw gold with a few small bubbles playing around the edges. Light cider vinegar notes on the front nose into dusty apple skins and tart acid. Medium bodied, subtle tartness into a developing acid and apple flesh. Lively carbonation but not overpowering leads to a semi dry finish with lingering apple sweetness and a touch of yeast. Easy drinking and a nice change of pace after a big heavy spiced beer.

Bottle, shared with my dad, Robbie, and whoever else wanted some. Pale yellow, medium carbo, no head, low liveliness. Aroma is light apple mash with mild honey notes. Austere apple flavour, more sweet than tart, light waxy notes, medium dryness in the finish. Medium bodied. Nice, but not awesome.
