Beautiful Sour Ale, comparable to the Grand Cru by Rodenbach. I prefer the Rodenbach because of its depth where as this just has a stronger late sour yeast pop.

Bottle, 75cL. Home. A sparkling dark brown beer with a big beige foamy head ; good retention. Vinegar (+) nose, wood, red berries, sugar. Medium to heavy sweet, medium dry sour refreshing ; sugary, nearly balanced though. Medium body, average oily texture, average carbonation, sweet fruity woody acid finish. Overall, very good !

330 ml bottle. Pours a tawny mahogany brown color with reddish hue. Brief creamy beige head. Intensely aromatic nose has notes of sour cherries, nail polish remover, oak and alcohol. First sip is intensely tart and acidic, like balsamic vinegar. Earthy and funky with Sour Cherry notes. Quite unique. A real taste experience. Definitely worth seeking out.

Always a treat to find the Duchesse on tap. Near pitch-perfect Flanders red, with a huge acidic sourness followed by a sweet, friendly middle and a tart, oak-vanilla tinged finish. A little goes a long way, but damn is it tasty.

Zeer lekker gefermenteerd bier.
