I once had a dream of what a beer could be. I awoke to find a bottle of Duchesse.

Butelka 250ml. Aromat wiśniowy, owocowy, do tego wyraźne nuty drewna. Bardzo szlachetny i przyjemny. W smaku umiarkowanie kwaśne, wyraźna beczka, delikatnie ściągająca.

Barwa ciemno miedziana, piwo idealnie klarowne, piana jasno beżowa, niezbyt obfita. Intensywny, kwaśny aromat, niemal octowy, wyraźne nuty wiśni i czereśni. W smaku bardzo kwaśne, wiśniowe, trochę taniczne.

Pours a coke like body with almost no head. Faint aroma of vinaeger. Taste is malty sour with a rather good balance.

syrlig og meget speciel. Smager lidt af shampoo. Et hit hos mange, men ikke mig..

330ml bottle from LCBO. Pours an average size foamy bubbly tan head that stays a bit, but then dissipates to a very thin layer. Has a deep dark amber appearance with ruby highlights. Weak lacing. Excessive carbonation. Aromas dark fruit, plums. Flavours are mostly dark and dry type fruits, raisins, plums. Has some sourness on the palate, quite immediate. Full bodied and fizzy mouthfeel.

On tap at Bar Hop in downtown Toronto. I must first acknowledge that I am not a lover of sour beers, and that this one might very well be considered world-class; as tasted, it is one of the better sour beers I’ve tasted, although it’s still not my thing. Pours clear brown with trace off-white head, lacing. Aroma: sour cherries, chocolate, malt vinegar, raisins, prune juice. Flavor: sour-forward, faint molasses, tobacco, leather, earth; sweet-sour finish; an effective blend of sour with sweet, Mouthfeel: light- to medium-bodied, somewhat watery.

Dark red-brown, little head. Aroma of vinegar and cherries with funky notes. Taste is cherries, tart, some oak, lots of sugar, but nothing remarkable.

Well, you can tell it's a sour from the vinegary aroma. Looks appealing to drink with it's dark nut brown colour tinged with ruby. Nice head that fades to lacing. I'm drinking it from a Chimay glass (heresy!) and it certainly packs a punch with me. It's a good sour with plenty of sweetness to offset it. Bit of cherry in there too. Knew I'd like this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
