COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A big bitter 77 IBU India Pale Ale, spiced with a blend of fragrant Magnum, Simcoe, and Cascade hops. An American IPA receipe designed by our late Brewmaster, Greg Noonan. He said that he wanted this to represent the American style IPAs being brewed by the creative brewers using todays malt and hop varieties.

On tap at pub: Earthy hoppiness and one dimensional maltiness, some caramel and flowery hops; not terribly hoppy or bitter; decent.

It's not bad. Orange bitter and hoppy. Dank fruits. Draft pour. White head. Wouldn't have again

An outdated IPA recipe that needs to come into line with modern expectations of the style. Their other beers have mostly aged well in my opinion but this is soapy and overly bitter. There are hints of grapefruit hops peeking through but it’s mostly that big pinesol quality a lot of old IPA recipes have. Not nearly the worst pale ale I’ve had but not worth trying.

Keg at Vermont Pub & Brewery, Burlington. Hazy deep golden, small head. Rich grapefruit aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Piney citrus, crystal malt. Resiny bitter finish.

On tap @ Vermont Pub & Brewery. Clear golden beer with a ring of white foam. This is gross. Tastes like chlorine, soap, and plastic. Bitter plastic and soap. Some orange, candy, and caramel. An old school malt profile and hop profile. This is not enjoyable in the slightest. Astringent herb and malt character on the finish. Scroll past.

commonmac (1250) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 22, 2016
On tap at the source with commonshawn, rosskyle, and samadouche. 12 oz pour. Light golden orange. Minor quarter white head. Little bit of haze. Pretty decent lacing. Aroma is muted with hints of citrus and floral. Taste is also mild with pretty standard hops bringing pine, citrus, and grassy notes. Thin mouthfeel that makes me think it’s more of a glorified homebrew effort. Very forgettable overall.

On tap at brewpub itself. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking hazy burnt orange color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing on the glass. The smell started off with some sweet grassy hops rolling over on some semi-sweet citrus hops, definitely playing a subtle low-key effect over some sweet malt. The taste was mainly grassy sweet through the hops.Light underscore of malts to play with the sweetness yet still have enough oomph from the bitterness to show some effect in the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA that I could have again.

Draught at the brewpub. Very classic, citrsy hops with a piney edge and biscuit malt, bitter finish. Ok stuff but tough to get impressed in such an amazing local scene.

Draft at Vermont pub and brewery. Clear gold. Big lacing. Fragrant earthy hops with spice. Balanced with malts and a resin finish. Solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
