On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black colored body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is big chocolates and a nice roastiness with a lighter wood and whiskey note. Some vanilla, toasted coconut, and a touch of raisin. Flavor is pretty thin up front with a slightly toasted coconut and rich chocolate malt. Roasts come along in the middle nicely with a light wood and whiskey that helps dry his out a lot. A light bitterness from the roasts with lots of wood in a lengthy aftertaste and a touch of dark fruit coming out as well as a bit more toasted coconut. Thinner body with a light carbonation. Overall, a somewhat bland flavored stout and on the thin side. Lots of chocolate, roasts, and wood with a light whiskey and toasted coconut. Pretty dry too. Not bad, but nothing special. hbmason (1086) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAR 19, 2012
Had this one at the brew pub on St. Patricks day. Dark black color with a thick tan head with red hue. This one to a while to pour. Light whiskey on the nose. Flavor was very smooth with a great whiskey flavor, but not overwhelming. Great treat.
