COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. 10.0%. Best before 10.03.13. Pours a clear deep amber/copper with a big, creamy khaki head. Good lacing. Sweet malty and tart hoppy aroma. Dark fruit notes. Light metallic overtone. Flavour is sweet with dark fruit notes, and citrus hops lurking in the shadows. Dryish, mildly bitter, dark fruit finish with a mild alcohol burn and a lingering green apple note. Palate feels a bit oily. A bit too much carbonation. Overall pretty good, and the alcohol was well-balanced. 09.02.13.

150212: Clear copper colored barley wine with a fine beige foam. Caramel flavor. The taste is very sweet, strong with a violent finish. Absolute a beer to share, or else you sleep very very well.

Sample from 66 cl. bottle. The 2010-version of this beer was horrible, far to much alcohol. LOTS of room for improvement this year. Clear, deep red colour with a thin, tanned head. Sweet aroma with alcohol and caramel malts. The taste is sweet with alcohol, caramel malts and a metallic note. Full body with an oily feel. Finishes sweet and sticky, with a alcohol burn. Much better than last year....

Simple aroma and dull appearance. But better than expected. Sweetness and barley doesn’t match well

stouby (4714) - Holbæk, DENMARK - FEB 23, 2012
Bottle at DØE tasting. Clear dark orange. Aroma medium to heavy malty (caramel, roasted, dark fruits), light hoppy (citrus notes). Flavor medium to heavy sweet, light bitter first, then quite bitter. Full body, some alcohol felt. I don’t find much US BW over this one, except for the strength.

Stefano (2027) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 22, 2012
Dark amber colour with a orange hew & fine creamy lasting head. Aroma is malty, sweet, caramel and sugar. Flavour is sweet and fruity with hops at first but take on a more vinous character as it warms.
