Viborg Brown Ale is an easily accessible beer style – inspired by Newcastle brown Ale.. Because of the 6,3% alcohol it has a lot more flavor than NBA, but yet most will not find it too dominating. It’s clearly our most popular and versatile beer. Brown Ale is nice with most kinds of food. It’s hand brewed by the use of a gas kettle and open fire, and provides the pronounced caramel flavor. Top fermented and cellared in 3 weeks.

Bottle. Red brown color with a small beige head. Caramel malty, earthy aroma and taste with some unclean and unpleasant sourness in the finish.

A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with a light touch of spices - nothing special. The flavor is sweet with a light note of burnt plastic, being what I remark mostly. The end is dry and roasted.

Bottle. Cloudy red brown coloured with a beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, grass and yeast. Flavour of malts, caramel, yeast and grass.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2007 Bottled. Clear dark brown, minimal head. Lightly roasty malt tries to hide lemon in the nose. Fruity and almost thin with simple malt character. Some pleasant nutty flavuors gives this beer some life, but the lemony flavour from a beginning infection disturbs.

Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 9, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Lovely aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Medium body with lots of roasted malt, fruit and a vague, burned touch. Dry - and oddly watery - finish. 090906

Draft at Cockneys pub, Aarhus. Small head with ok duration. Color is hazy brown. Aroma is caramel and malt. Taste is caramel and coffee. Average finish.

Bottled. Clear, reddish-brown ale with a nice beige head. Roasted and fruity aroma with malt and some weak hints of stock. The flavor is quite neutral, with a roasty maltyness and a bit sour finish. Medium body. A decent, quaffable beer, maybe for the summertime? (070119)

Draught. Quite cloudy dark brown colour. NO head. Malty and roasted flavour. Rather sweet, but OK. Good, solid brown ale.

Bottle. No head. Cloudy/muddy brown colour. Moderate malty/chocolate aroma. OK caramellic flavor. Thin watery palate. I hope they get better.
