COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Viborg Imperial Stout brewed in the English style like those that were originally exported to the Russian market. The stout we brew here at Viborg bryghus is black, full. We use round handed amounts of peat smoked malt and English licorice. The full flavor and the high alcohol make this a beer for gents and real stout enthusiasts. It’s hand brewed by the use of a gas kettle and open fire, and provides the pronounced caramel flavor. Top fermented and cellared in 4 weeks. We recommend it to accompany lamb, ox, sausages and dark chocolate.

Ikke meget skum, heller ikke meget kulsyre. Rigtig god smag af den tørvetrøget malt og engelsk lakrids der er i. Fyldig, tjærret og en eftersmag der bliver hængende i ganen. Let sødlig i eftersmag. Hvis du kan lide en stout/porter er denne et must at prøve.

(6) Good beer for a good rating. There is something in this bottle that makes one do more of it. Not a bad balance - there is intensity.

Dark, dark ruby near black with brown foam ring quickly dissapearing. Aroma is bit sweet coffee, some burnt rubber notes indeed. Taste is mix of coffee, licorice, some roasted nut. Not too strong, not quite imperial in my rating. (Velp 201312)

Trade from kingcecil. Clear brown body with a small offwhite head. Aroma is sweet malt, coffee, cocoa. Flavor is cloying sweet. Coffee, chocolate, malt, sugar. I’ve had better imperial stouts.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with Iphonephan. It's billed as an imperial stout but tastes very much like a barley wine. A dark ruby red pour with a little short-lived life in the head. The richness of the malt and liquorice really shines through with citrus notes too. A slight bitterness with some fruit on the palate. Not a traditional imperial stout, but a really great beer all the same. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
