COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Viborg Scottish Ale is true to the style with it’s slightly smoked malty caramel flavor and a buttery after taste that is especially pronounced because it’s brewed using an open fire in the old Scottish tradition. Because of the 7,6% alcohol it’s classified as a Wee heavy. For food Scottish Ale is nice with fish. Top fermented and cellared in 6 weeks.

Bottle 500ml @ Geokkjer
Pours deep amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and grass. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Thanks for the bottle Rainer! Pours an overly foamy brown with reddish highlights with loose big tanish head. Smell is sweet caramel malt, burnt malt, earth. Taste is tart, some fruit along with the caramel malt sweetness, earthiness with dry finish. Body is medium average carbonation. Overall this beer just kind of sits there...nothing great nothing horrible. Note - it was a gusher and made a bit of a mess.

larsga (7602) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2011
Medium yellowish beige head. Clear deep dark red body. Wild berry and earth aroma with blackberry juice notes. Dry-acidic barnyard and wild berry taste with wooden smoky notes. Thin body. Sharp, biting mouthfeel. Dry wooden wild berry aftertaste with lemony metallic barnyard notes. Obviously infected, but a fairly nice bug. (0.5l bottle, Salling, Århus. Should rerate.)

50 cl flaske. Karamel eller kastanie farvet hælde med et lille off white hoved. Aroma af karamel, frugt og en smule røg. En sødlig smag af karamel med note af røg. En smule tørhed i mundfornemmelsen.
