Theydon_Bois (21503) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JAN 15, 2018
Cask at the CP&K, 15/01/18. Black with a decent light tan covering that thins to edging and a swirl over time. Nose is liquorice, dusty fruits, light roast malts, fuggy jam, plummy depths. Taste comprises light chocolate, pinch of spice, mellow roast, fruit slice, dried red berries, light charr, faint smoke. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light roast and dryness in the close. Decent enough porter.

jjsint (3609) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2017
Handpull cask from Broood @ Vin Quatre, Leicester. Dark brown bordering on black with a tan head. Coffee and chocolate in the aroma, with light notes of molasses, Bovril and forest floor. Taste: man, this is ridiculously sweet but I dig it. It comes together so nicely in the finish with just a wisp of hop bitterness for balance. Cinnamon sticks in the aftertaste. Special.

imdownthepub (15526) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2017
Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival ’17. Very dark brown with cream head. There is a heavy cigarette ash character to this from the start, burnt tobacco then a plummy fruitiness. Not sure what has happened here as my rating is very different to previous but I wasn’t that keen on this.

3.6
