Handpull cask from Broood @ Vin Quatre, Leicester. Dark brown bordering on black with a tan head. Coffee and chocolate in the aroma, with light notes of molasses, Bovril and forest floor. Taste: man, this is ridiculously sweet but I dig it. It comes together so nicely in the finish with just a wisp of hop bitterness for balance. Cinnamon sticks in the aftertaste. Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival ’17. Very dark brown with cream head. There is a heavy cigarette ash character to this from the start, burnt tobacco then a plummy fruitiness. Not sure what has happened here as my rating is very different to previous but I wasn’t that keen on this.
