Nose is liquorice, dusty fruits, light roast malts, fuggy jam, plummy depths.
Taste comprises light chocolate, pinch of spice, mellow roast, fruit slice, dried red berries, light charr, faint smoke.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light roast and dryness in the close.

Bottle shared at The Silverback Alehouse, Bournemouth. Black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, roast and licorice. Flavour is moderate sweet and moderate to light heavy bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Handpull cask from Broood @ Vin Quatre, Leicester. Dark brown bordering on black with a tan head. Coffee and chocolate in the aroma, with light notes of molasses, Bovril and forest floor. Taste: man, this is ridiculously sweet but I dig it. It comes together so nicely in the finish with just a wisp of hop bitterness for balance. Cinnamon sticks in the aftertaste. Cask at the Antelope in Surbiton. Not that strong in flavour but a great balance of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel and vanilla.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden, London, 24 April 2017) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and a sweetish finish with a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival ’17. Very dark brown with cream head. There is a heavy cigarette ash character to this from the start, burnt tobacco then a plummy fruitiness. From cask at the Fat Cat, Ipswich. Pours dark mahogany brown with a bubbly beige head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, roasted coffee, vanilla and dark fruit. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Good hop bitterness. Slightly spicy. Moderately bitter roast chocolate malty throughout. Dry bitter roast finish. Easy drinking. Decent. (2017-04)
