UPDATED: FEB 13, 2013 On tap. Poured brown with brown head. Odd. Very spicy, peppery smell. Taste is peppery too. Thick. Unusual for a dubbel. Not very good for my taste buds.

Tasted on 1/27/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle from the Rare Beer Club. Pours a very dark mahogany color with a very thick beige head that slowly recedes to super thick and rocky lace. The nose is malty but dry with cocoa nibs, some chocolate, cola, and vanilla. The flavor is the same, very dry with the cola notes up front, moving to the toasted cocoa nibs and a nice dose of roasted bitterness. The body is medium with lively carbonation and a long cola and bitter roasted finish. andrepintado (3416) - Lisbon, PORTUGAL - JAN 24, 2013
