COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Translated from the Dutch on the brewery website.
Brewing process: Vicaris Generaal is made in three stages like the Tripel: warm fermentation at around 24°C, lagering at approximately 1°C and secondary fermentation in the bottle. The only difference between them is that the Tripel is brewed with one malt variety and Generaal with three. Vicaris Generaal is also brewed without spices.

- Ingredients: water, malt, sugar, hops and yeast.

- Tasting notes: Vicaris Generaal (8.8% ABV) is a red-brown warm fermented beer with a beautiful tinted head, conditioned in both bottle and keg. Generaal will mature in the bottle and is for the experienced beer lover. Generaal has a marked bitterness obtained by using roasted malt and hops. It is not a sweet beer.
- Available in 330ml and 750ml bottles and 30l kegs.

Note: Brewed by De Proef before their brewery opened in 2011.

Draft at Alla Spina. Pours a deep brownish red with bubbly tan head and lace. Notes of plums, cherries, raisin, oak, vanilla, toffee. Medium body and slightly tart. Reminds me a little of St. Vincent. Really nice dubbel

At Brugs Beertje, Bruges. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, foamy, tan head. The aroma contains caramel, roasted malt, bread & yeast, dark chocolate, dark fruits, alcohol, hops and herbs. It tastes medium chocolatey and caramel-like sweet and medium herbal bitter with a dry, warming, alcoholic finish. Full body, oily/sticky texture, fizzy carbonation. A great Abbey Dubbel; well done by Dilewyns.

Good Belgian Dubbel, dark, complex, rich in taste, among the better if its kind.

Dark, beige foam. Balanced, slight roasted sweetness. A bit estery and with some subdued bitterness.

Bottle. Fluffy, creamy light yellow-brown head on a very dark red, also black beer. Roasty, caramel nose, bubblegum, candi. Crisp, light roast, malty body, bready. A very tasty beer, and moreish. A well crafted strong dubbel, and one I will certainly have again.

Trolleo (1683) - Pula / Zagreb, CROATIA - JUN 12, 2017
Cloudy brown color and medium sized tan head. Plum aroma, dark fruit, everything nice but somehow weak. Taste is dried fruit and chocolate mostly, very nice. Full body, soft carbonation. Not my favorite style but this one is quite nice.

Robe brune, fine mousse, moyennement persistante.

Výtečné pivo se skvělou hořkostí, řízností i masivností. Dobré aroma. Hodně podobné Trappistu Rockerford.
