750 ml bottle, Vicaris Winter 2015 from Pacific Liquor on sale $5.99. Dark brown pour with slight khaki head, no lacing. Nice aromas of raisin, plum, caramel, brown sugar, some vinous character. Good balance of sweet, spicy, fruity, low bitterness, very rich and good mouthfeel, warming alcohol, full body. A nice holiday beer or winter warmer, recommended. hallinghansen (3352) - Odense SV, DENMARK - MAR 5, 2016
2015 edition. Dark brown body with a medium offwhite head. Dark dried fruits, chocolate notes, warming alcohol, raisins, prunes, spices. It reminds me of a traditional danish christmas dinner - duck, prunes, thick brown gravy. Delicious. fkoolen (1309) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - FEB 29, 2016
Bottle at home, 2014 ed. Very dark reddish brown colour, beautifully stable and creamy beige head. Lots of chocolate and dried fruits, spices like clove and nutmeg, liquorice, some vinous tones (aging?), alcohol is well hidden. Finish is quite dry, bitter. Lingering bitter sweet aftertaste. Gets more sweet as it warms, with some red fruits and more vinous tones. Incredibly smooth mouthfeel, soft, low carbonation, big body. JanEric (1241) - Meppel, NETHERLANDS - FEB 13, 2016
Reddish brown, minimal head. Aroma has some malts. Full body taste,, medium bitterness, a bit short finish. Nice but a bit overrated.

Bottle at home (2014 edition). Pours a deep brown-red colour with a small tan head. Rich aroma of roasted malt and dark fruits; yeasty and almost woody. Taste is sweet to start and then bitter. Lots of flavours: port wine, stewed fruit, chocolate, licorice and slightly herbal hop. Like liquid Christmas cake, the booze is evident and gives it a nice finish. Really good with dark chocolate. cmacklin (1246) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 31, 2016
330ml bottle. (As Vicaris Winter 2012) Pours a murky, dark reddish brown with plenty of sediment and a large, frothy, long lasting, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, dried fruit, licorice, yeast and alcohol. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, dried fruit, brown sugar, licorice and warming alcohol leading to a dry, bitter, spicy finish.
