The major joke (most consumed beer) of the entire trip! From the flight from LAX to SYD, the three of us (JonR888710,Haddon90 and myself) drank at least 50 of these) during our tenure in Oz. Golden coloured body with a lot of bubbles and depending on the serving style, some white head or not. Aroma of pretty bad malt, some caster sugar and very little else. Light-bodied; Mildly offensive skunky tastes with a cardboardy malt flavour and some slight sugars. Aftertaste can best be described as not pleasant. Overall, this beer most closely resembles Budweiser...but in most cases when we had it, it was free. I drank this many times in Melbourne & Sydney both, but would have prefered just about anything else. jercraigs (10556) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 8, 2004
Crisp pale yellow, tiny white film of a head. Decent floral hops in the aroma but muted. Pleasant bitterness, a bit flowery. Pleasant but very light mouthfeel. Dull. Thanks for adding to my list of Australian beers (by way of Calgary!) Bartoweler Blankboy. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 7, 2004
Pale yellow colour with a moderate while head. Aroma is slightly skunky and flowery. Body is thin and flat. Flavour is slightly fruity, with barely a hint of bitterness in the finish. Not awful, just boring as hell. paco (576) - Regina, Saskatchewan, CANADA - SEP 27, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2005 Re-Rate. Can. Stale aroma. Pours golden yellow with an ultra thin white head. Tastes awful. Hints of corn and pool water. Nice carbonation. This is one of those thirst quenching beers, I wouldn’t recommend it otherwise. vanvenlo (1894) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2004
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2014 9 May 2004 - Low malt, no hop or spice aromas. Yellow clear, low suds lacing and no head. Slight sweet, bitter simplisitic, low malt and short flavour. Fizzy light mouthfeel. Even at a lower temperature than normally served, this beer is less than ordinary, in fact the colder this beer is, the more masked its ordinaire qualiteit.Choos, you need to drink US macrobeers to realise that VB is not the end of the scale (although not too far from it).

(on bottle) Flat and very pale yellow, and absolutely no head. Strange small sediments in the brew? One taste only; sour corn and i guess thats about it; poor aussies. Aarleks (409) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 23, 2004
Tap: Gold, white head, classic Aussie lager look. Sweet aroma of nothing in particular. For some bizarre reason I always like the flavour (not much though), and always hate myself for liking it... It’s VB... It’s cheap. dreamboat (186) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 19, 2004
First whiff was quite distinctly apples, but this dissappeared, leaving a soapy aroma. Poured a nice mid gold, nicely carbonated, which lasted all the way to the bottom of the quality plastic Qantas cup and left some lacing. Flavour is pretty bad, not really bitter at all, masked with some weird sweet soapyness which I couldn’t shake. jbj42 (8) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 16, 2004 does not count
colour of elderly male STD infested inbred camel urine, smell consistant with colour, taste consistant with smell. as has been said before giving this anything above negative score pains me deeply, but i truly admire the man at CUB that can become a millionaire by botteling his great grandmothers breast milk. the only upside of this beer is that its in a twist top bottle, as similar substances can only be found in pools on the floors of public toilets piscator34 (2539) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - JUL 15, 2004
Not really bitter at all... just bland macro swill. Not much aroma at all, and the flavors range from slightly floral to chemical and cardboard. One to avoid.
