Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

This was not a fantastic beer, but I was in Australia for a few weeks and I not only had VB multiple times, but I also had the opportunity to tour the brewery. I wish that I could get this beer in the states, but I know that even if I could, it wouldn’t taste the same. This is a good beer. If you go to Australia, have a VB, you won’t regret it. There are many great beers throughout Australia, but VB is definitely worth a try.

375ml bottle at Vincent’s Italian, Beaumaris, VIC. Pours pale yellow golden with a white head. A truly terrible lager with zero taste or character. Just cold, wet & fizzy, an absolute waste of water. Light grainy malts on the nose & taste, perhaps a slight hint of floral hops in there somewhere. Thin & light bodied

29Nov2017 Grain and cereal malts, bitter straw. Clear gold, medium, frothy, white head. Light bitter. Bitter straw and grain malts, medium carbonation, medium bodied. Boring. Can from Foodworks, Yanakie.

375 ml. can. 4.9% ABV per the label. Pours a thin, poorly retained, white head, with no lacing, over a clear dark yellow (SRM 4) body........nose is mild malts and hops with no character.....taste is slightly sweet to start, with mild malts, becoming dry with mild hop bitterness, balance slightly to the hops......mouth feel, light watery body, no alcohol, mild carbonation. This is a very simple and completely uninteresting beer. It is quite clean, and falls into the style of Pale Lager. This type of beer is only good for re-hydrating on a hot desert day. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6

A big classic. Crisp lager, very easy to drink. Golden color, thin head, malty , a little bit sweet and light bitterness. Touch of citrusy tones. Above average lager.

This is a true Iconic Australian beer, and is one of the best you can find in australia. After being brought up around beer in the family i have had my fair share and I feel like this beer is the one that all Australians seem to go to for a beer. Its taste is superb, a little watery depending on can or bottle little to no bad after taste and after the first beer you can really get into a case of 30 in about 5 minutes. The smell is superb and I would bath in this beer to have its scent for life. This is like the air freshener of all Australian households and can be found in every fridge. This is in my opinion some of the best alcohol i have ever drank in my life.

Victoria Bitter is a most underrated amber fluid that lights up the palate like the light in an impressionist artwork. It has an flowery taste that tickles the throat and projects a strong aroma when one exhales on public transport. Best served very cold with fried takeaway chicken for a memorable evening.

375ml can. Biscuit, little apple, little flora, touch of vegetation, little acidity near the end. Just a pale lager with a little more malt character than normal, and none the better for it.
