2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Probably the best mass-produced Mexican beer out there. That being said, it’s not a great beer, but it is a nice thirst quencher on a hot day. Light amber body, mild hay and malt aroma, slight palate, and pretty sweet flavor. Goes down like a glass of water. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from the new mega brewery just across the border in Nava, Mexico. This is the Modelo brewery owned by AB InBev. Victoria pours a clear amber with an off-white head. The aroma is quite clean. The flavor is light for a Vienna style Märzen, but smooth and highly drinkable. I like this much better than the brewery´s other products like Corona, Modelo and Pacifico and a lot better than typical American interpretations of this style like Coors Killian´s Irish Red. Pretty nice session beer from the biggest brewery plant in the world with an annual output of 27.5 million hectoliters (23.4 million barrels).

Amber color. Cream colored head. Wispy caramel/nutty finish. Can, bottle and draft. May have been based off an Austrian recipe. Bitter and sweet notes throughout.

Bottle. It poured an amber color with one finger of a quickly dissipating white head. Malty caramel aroma.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Can (Thanks Jukka). Deep orangeish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grainy, some maize, mild toasted notes as well as some earth. Flavour is kind of dusty, grainy, some slight toasted and mild strange sweetish notes. Watery and lacks a body pretty much.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz. bottle courtesy of Rob G.; shared with Boo. Aroma: Very light toasted malts; maybe a touch of apple cider vinegar? Hmm. Additionally, a dash of some noble family hops in there. Appearance: Transparent golden light brown with very soft carbonation holding up a bubbly tan head that settles into a thin ring. Flavor: Initially toasty and semi-sweet, but is quickly reigned in with some decent hop bitterness- well, more than you’re likely to see in virtually any mass-market Mexican lager (as least from what I’ve had). The finish is semi-dry. Palate: Light body, slick texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Not too bad, really. I prefer the fuller malt character of Negra Modelo, but I’d wager this is the better warm weather beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear golden orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, biscuit, light honey/nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Okay aromas with solid balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with poor strength, and a bit too yeasty. Taste of cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey/nuttiness, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey/nuttiness, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal dryness. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal yeast notes present in the taste. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately grainy/creamy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is a good Vienna lager. All around good robustness and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and refreshing to drink. This improved as I finished the glass. There was quite a bit of corn/DMS in the aromas initially, but it went away as it sat in the glass; none were present in the flavors. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle from the six type sampler case. Pretty much a run-of-the-mill Mexican beer with nothing special. Was a bit weak in taste.
