2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Victory. Not very impressed. Aromas of yeast, appeared to be a darker golden color. Taste was more yeasty and light than sweet/carmel/fruit like an abbey dubbel should be.
theres the usual spiciness and yeast going on here (nothing offensive) but all in all it’s a pretty lightweight boring beer. definitely one of their weaker offerings." Nickls (2608) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAY 26, 2010

Poured with a thin pure white bubblier looking head. Coppery color, that it is a bit more like a Belgian pale ale, etc. Sweetish maltiness at first; unripe apple and grape aromas; fresh and a bit herbal. All things were a bit muted, though. Tart and just a bit sour; grape flavors; a bit yeasty; and pretty refreshing. Thinner MF, but still had a more substantial body. Snappy carbonation. Good drinkability for me, refreshing brew and there were enough interesting flavors to keep me interested.
Draft. Pours an orange body with a white head. Fruity esters peach, citrus, and some wheat notes. Apple and malt with a medium mouth feel and a light spiced finish. Nice session ale. BVery (11390) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - NOV 21, 2009
TAP: gold pour, no head. Coriander on the nose, same on taste, thin body. Tastes metallic. I’m hoping there was something wrong with this sample/pour, because this seemed like a pretty weak attempt at a dubbel. Tripplebrew (778) - Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA - NOV 8, 2009
Pours a clear lemon orange yellow. Aroma is creamy vanilla and grassy notes. Flavor is citrus hops. Body is light with fair carbonation.

On tap @ Victory. Clear amber brown with an off white head. Sweet yeasty aroma, very earthy and a candy sugar sweetness. Mostly sweet flavor with some hop bitterness and some sourness too. Medium body with mild carbonation and an extremely smooth well balanced finish. mabel (9874) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 20, 2009
[2375-20090801] Sample. Mild dog fur aroma and petrol and grains. Clear, golden orange body with a quick bubbly white head. More generic grainy malt in the flavour. Medium body. Doesn’t seem to be in wonderful shape. bigrond (1499) - factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 12, 2009

A decent offering from Victory. On tap at Coopers. Belgians are not my favorite but I like Victory so I really wanted to sample this one. Now that I did....I can forget about it just as quickly as I drank it. jercraigs (10921) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 5, 2009
2009-08-01. Dark orange amber body with a modest beige head. (3+) Aroma is surprisingly mild, touches of dry malt. (6+) Flavour is similar, pleasant dry malt, lightly alcoholic finish. Toasty malt touches. Modest malty base. Average plus palate. (3+) Enjoyably quaffable, but relatively mild and fails to wow in a crowd of much bolder beers. Still, I could seeing drinking a few of these in an evening quite happily. Seems like a cross between a dubbel and an abbey ale perhaps? Pouring at their booth at BCTC. Pours a clear light caramel color. Caramel and candy on the nose. Medium bodied and sweet, with a touch of grain before a light bitter finish.
