Just put on the tap yesterday. Well, it is a great lager, if that is your style of beer. Initially, it is a bit weak, but the flavor kicks in quickly. The malts are light, but refreshing. egajdzis (6574) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2004
Poured a deep dark amber color with a small tan head and a little lacing. Roasted, toasted, biscuity malt aroma. Sweet and malty, some bitterness and light roast in the taste. Overall, a nice dunkel. Probiere (992) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 28, 2005
Dark copper, light brown head diminishing. Smells toffee, tangerines, coffee roast, subdued spiciness. Tasty gooey caramel malts bouyed by nice carbonation, clean, spicy finish. Clean, crisp, malty. Very drinkable. Too sweet to be a dunkel, though. Malt profile more like a Vienna. Very nice. happy4hops (376) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - AUG 9, 2005
Finally a dunkel I love.Deep authentic bavarian notes abound. As my glass has sat finished for about five minutes. It smells like a really good salty pretzel. bfeldmann (1050) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - JAN 5, 2006
"Poured a dark amber color with a small head, little bit of lacing. Roasted, malt aroma. Sweet and malty, little touch of a bitter flavor toward the end. Overall, very nice."

De richlikebeer. Brun acajou, moyen collet. Arome de noix, un peu de malte. Goût malte très légé, un peu sucré mais bien. ganache (5893) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 29, 2013
Tap. Beautiful deep-dark honey color with orange and brown tones over the ruby and golden, and a clingy lacing beige head. Nose with a good helping of Munich, some earth and dark caramel and surprisingly competent nuts. Dry, lightly bitter, a touch of tang, but thank goodness it’s not a cloying mess - a very repeatable Dunkel is hard to find stateside. Nuts with a woody-spciy finish. Light body with faint fruity esters, some brown sugar, fizzy tight little bundles of carbonation. The malt relatively complex and has a great feel. surfmurf (85) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 18, 2004
At last a beer that smells, looks and finally tastes like a beer should! Perhaps my quest is over and I’ve found a new favorite. This stuff was exquisite. Overall a balance of perfectly blended grains that hit the spot and made me want another just to savor again. jeffin7 (613) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - MAR 1, 2005
Pours clear dark brown. Aroma of caramel and sweet malt. Flavor is sweet malt and caramel. Clean finishing malt bomb. Lou18 (1353) - West Paterson, New Jersey, USA - MAY 16, 2005
Thamks to rich, this bottle poured a dark clear chestnut, with foamy white head leaving good lacing. Nice malty roasted nose. Nice malt flavor here, just enogh hop in the back ground to balance this. Smooth and easy to drink.
