11/VI/17 - from bottle @ Vleteren Craft Beer Festival - BB: n/a (2017-886) Thanks to 77ships and kraddel for sharing today’s beers!

Clear dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: pretty roasted, bit sweet, malty, caramel, some dried fruits, grains. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bitter start, roasted, sweet, malty, caramel, hoppy, bit fruity. Aftertaste: bitter hops, bit fruity, very roasted, dry bitter finish.

Thank you tderoeck! Sampled bottled @ VCBF 2017. Black with no head. Nose is far too umami as was the case for me with their other stouts, thick umami, soy sauce, gravy, herbal. Taste is thick gravy soy sauce, mocha, teriyaki sauce, herbal, near smoke. Thick soy sauce gravy body. Decent on its own terms but I am not very into very soy sauce stouts.

Tap (Riga Craft Beer Festival 2016)
Last tick of the festival, thank goodness we put this as the one to end on after the other previous shambles. Rich coffee roast aroma, a bit soyey. Rich smooth sweet palate. So much soy in the taste, but a bit of chocolate on the non-savoury side. Not saying it’s 10.5%, but it’s clearly potent. I’m tired, and now I just want to sip this rather than gibber on inanely. Very nice impy stout.

vinivini (2581) - Gomel, BELARUS - SEP 29, 2016
Tap. Deep brown to black, opaque. Little creamy nitro head. Roasted malts, coffee, brandy, smoke, iodine on nose. Full body. Smooth creamy palate. The flavour is nicely balanced with notes mentioned for aroma. Light bitterness. Very good. Impressive

On tap at RCBW 2016. Almost pitch black colour. Beige head. Quite sweet, slightly alcocholy, slightly caramelly beginning. Chocolate, hints of coffee in the middle. Caramelly finish. Quite sweet palate. Quite well balanced, maybe bit too sweet. Not surprising.

Marduk (7936) - Reval, ESTONIA - SEP 7, 2016
Tap @RCBF 2016. Pitch black color. Small size, brown head, stays. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and sweet in aroma. Sweet, roast, dark chocolate in taste. Long lasting roast in aftertaste. Alcohol is hidden. Very solid brew.

Vells (1857) - Rīga, LATVIA - AUG 31, 2016
Lovely deep roasted malts, coffee, some floral aspect, vinous. Moderate to light sweetness, moderate bitterness, feels smooth. Nice balance, all the way solid brew.
