Reviewed 2010 - Caramel, and roasted malt notes on this one. Hop bitterness in the finish. Overall a decent brown but nothing to write home about on this one. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 14, 2010
Tap at BT, listed on the board as just "Brown Ale" Bill C verified it should be under Bottoms up Brown Ale. Pours a light amber woody brown with a thin lasting head. Aroma is nutty chocolate with a sweet amber caramel malt backbone, light butter, low on the roast, some grassy hints. Flavor is toasted malts, light caramel some sweet chocolate, earth, grass, light butter as it warms- along with a slight bretty and cheesecloth funk (?) could have just been some cheese at the table or something- mineral and pretty clean in the finish. j12601 (13035) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 16, 2010
On tap at the Blind Tiger’s Victory event. Apparently a new brown their doing, but the rep didn’t seem certain if it was a seasonal or a year rounder. Pours a ruby brown with a medium sized beige head. Caramel, coffee, toast, malt on the the nose. Malty, vanilla, caramel and chocolate. Delicious and smooth. Light cocoa and toast on the the finish with some long sweet toffee flavors. Really tasty stuff. jredmond (8518) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 30, 2010
Draft at cork in westmont, NJ. Pours a dark murky brown with some off white lacing. Aroma is nut, dough and malt. Palate is thin and watery with notes of nut, bread and toasted malts. WISEGUY572 (1377) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 12, 2010
Not my favorite style. A pretty decent job with a British brown. Small in the mouth, small head, limited lacing. A little dry nuttiness. Just did not make me smile. Finished with a cask Storm King, which did work for me.

Just added this one, so I’ll be the first to rate it as well.

This was a pretty nice English Style Brown Ale. I thought Victory did a pretty good job with this style. This one had some nice caramel/toffee malt flavors to it, to go along with some earthy notes, some fruity notes, and some light hop notes. A nice dark colored session beer.
