light amber color. Lots of noble hops in the nose a touch of apricots. Light bodied. Very quaffable. Amazing that it is 7%. light bitter finish. Very unique structure.

Draft @ the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma with grassy citrus hints. Fruity malty hoppy bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter finish.

Pours a hazy dark golden orange color with golden yellow hues and a one finger frothy white head. Good retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring. Streaks and spots of lacing left behind. Floral, slightly earthy hop aroma with hints of grass and pine countered by sweet pale malt and crisp light fruit. Hints of grass and straw along with some biscuit, apple and pear. Very similar to a kolsch. Full bodied with a spicy and earthy hop bite up front that lingers over the malt backbone and sweeter notes into a slight dry finish. Floral, piney hops provide a nice dryness without being overly bitter. Excellently balanced by the earthy notes of grass and straw along with hints of biscuit, apple and pear. Complex, flavorful and extremely quaffable.

Draft at Smallbar Division. Pours a burnished gold, mostly clear. Sticky white head. Nose is pretty much what I would expect from a Bavarian Pale Ale. It seems to showcase fruity Continental malts with a spicy hop profile. The balance is interesting at least. A German IPA, if there ever was one, though I think they could have had the hops shining more, demonstrating the nuances. Prima Pils can show them off, why not this beer. Just okay.

TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAY 23, 2011
On tap at Small Bar Division (Chicago, IL). Pours a nice glowing amber gold hue, light haziness, and moderate frothy whitish head dies to a film, laces ok. Aromas are pale malts, dry florals and touches of chalk. Grass, touches of citrus, a lot of floral and earthy German hops. Touches of lemon, dry toast. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, with dry bread dough and toast moving into bigger earthy hops that throw dry grass, touches of lemon, florals, a touch of lemon cookies with a light spicy floral hop appeal. Into the finish it’s dry and bitter, floral hops and more citrus grow, very dry with a touch of piney hops. Light, but dry and bitter. Earthy dandelion and weedy dry hops. Very German hop slanted without a big citrus hop bent. Solid German styled IPA, however it seems to preach a less complex and fruity hop profile for me. Ok. Very dry and earthy.

Draft @ Blind Tiger for Victory event. Orange pour with some tan head. hmm, bad keg, or oxidized product, dusty, butter, metallic, grain and fruit tones.

Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - NOV 30, 2010
Draft. Pours an orange amber body with a scant off white head. Something went wrong with this keg, huge butter bomb. Metal notes, vanilla and popcorn, grain y and bad.

Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 14, 2010
Tap at BT. I really liked this one. Pours a nice clear blonde pils-like with good white head. Aroma is bready, pils, crisp, mineral, toast, good fresh green herbal hops. Flavor is soft, pils malt, toast, light mineral and moderate bitterness, from a grassy green hoppiness, herbs and loaded with fresh german hops, get a slight fruitiness in the middle as it warms- honeydew melon? Strange but very good - crisp clean finish.
