Bottle courtesy of Zac at GWL Grapevine. Dark brown oily look with a thin brown head. The aroma is light molasses and dark fruit like black cherries. The flavor is lightly bitter from the nibs with hints of cocoa. Nice enough. 60minuteman (1681) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 22, 2016
Bottle from Beer Store aged and bottled 02.06.15. Dark barley, hop, chocolate, dirt aroma. Flavors of fruit but what? Orange? Grape? Lots of cocoa, dark malt and caramel. Some sweet. Light bite. And dark. Doesn’t really feel strong. Not much heat. Smooth and drinkable. Leighton (21083) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 2, 2016
Bottle shared at Sander STAG. Pours deep brown with a frothy, khaki head. Rich and hearty chocolate in the nose, milk chocolate, roast. Medium sweet flavour with chewy dark chocolate, strong roast, scorched earth. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with minimal warmth, more rich and rounded chocolate, baking cocoa, fudge. Excellent. mrjez (609) - Osaka, JAPAN - MAY 13, 2016
Bottle shared by Mick. Pours black with a low tan head. Roasted malt and cocoa aroma. Following two sweet stouts, this flavour stood out as a forward malt profile with strong bitterness. Cocoa lingers and slight hints of raisin and cherry creep in. Quite raspy and acrid, very lively on the tongue. Enjoyable.
