Wildly assertive, intentionally untamed and dangerously satisfying, DirtWolf Double IPA is the culmination of Victorys double IPA series experiment with whole flower American-grown hops. With two-row German malts and a well-balanced combination of whole flower Citra, Chinook, Simcoe and Mosaic hops, this 8.7% abv brew blends the powerful citrus aroma and fruity flavors, with the piney, earthy and mildly floral characteristics found in these intriguing hop varieties. Replacing Victorys Hop Wallop Ale, which will take a hiatus from the market for the time being, DirtWolf Double IPA will launch the brewerys entry into four-packs when it begins to hit markets in October". So a wolf and a prospector walked into a bar, joked President and Brewmaster, Bill Covaleski. No, in all seriousness, Hop Wallop will be missed, but isnt necessarily gone forever. We developed that brand 10 years ago as our flavorful response to the hop-bomb vogue of the time. But as brewers who enjoy experimenting with beer styles and ingredient varieties, we looked for the opportunity to do other interesting recipes as time passed. Making the decision to put Hop Wallop aside for a few years allows us to bring this delicious new double IPA, DirtWolf, to the market in bottles.

Darkly heroic, Humulus Lupulus (hops) have empowered brews with bite and character since the 11th century. DirtWolf is a tribute to these untamed vines which rise from the earth with the voracity of a wolf among sheep. Hops have made an assertive comeback in American craft brewing. Revel in the best US varieties of hops, in their natural, whole flower form, as they bring a vital, pungent reality to the soul of a wild element in our dangerously satisfying DirtWolf. Cheers, Bill, Ron, The Brewmasters of Victory.

Growler from Central Liquors, beautiful golden orange pour, medium carbonation leaves a light lacing on the glass. Forceful grapefruit and light pine aroma, bitter finish when cold, the malt shines through as its a bit warmer. Solid effort, a few I like better but glad to see Victory scoring a home run here.

This Victory beer pays proper tribute to the wolves among scrubs. It features four American varieties of them and uses them to deliciously devastating effect. DirtWolf pours golden with a white, rocky head. Dank aromas - grassy, floral, leafy, and tropical. Overall flavor is fruity: lemon, grapefruit, mango, melon, pineapple, tangerine, peach. Theres also notes of pine and pepper. Bone dry finish. The hoppy beer market is dense and ever-growing. Its hard to justify having an IPA more than once, even a great one. DirtWolf is one that I could come back to time after time.

[email protected] Twist, Stockholm (backlog). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, some wooden and herbal notes with mild sweetness. Flavour is fruity, alcohol, some floral and mild toffeeish notes. Quite nice fruity and floral aftertaste. Feels rather mellow, and is actually quite easy to drink.

On tap. Slightly hazy golden body, lasting white head. Aroma of honey, grapefruit, honeydew melon, bubble gum and hop resin. Taste of honey, honeydew melon, pine, grass, bubble gum and peach. Huge hop character in the taste and aroma, but its not super bitter. Very nice DIPA.

Aroma of dank bud, surprisingly smooth with just as surprising of biting, parting finish. Not boozy at all, not watery either...good balance to say the least. After the quick bite at the end, back to the smooth body and a slightly warming sensation but again, not boozy.

Pours a deep, clear gold with an amber hue and a small white head. Aroma of orange zest, pineapple, lemon thyme, mellow peaches and pears, sweet caramel malts, pine, some notes of overly ripe mango, cereals with honey and alcohol. Pretty strong. Taste is nice, sweet, medium bitter. Full, oily body with medium but lively carbonation. Lingering finish of bitterness and sweet ripe fruit. <b /> Very nice. A little boozy, intense ripe fruits. Big, bold, pleasant.

Orange zest, moldy fruit, caramel, floral note. Syrupy thick mouth feel, flat carbonation, malty sweet. Zesty, grapefruit rind, dry/bitter finish. Lower alcohol feel and bitterness than other double/imperial IPAs Ive had. (bottle, best before 12/05/16)
