Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich. All German hops make this lager true to style. Patient cold aging makes it wonderfully smooth. In bottles September through February

I drank this beer at the Oktoberfest at the Village of Shirlington in Arlington, VA in 2001and it was just great.

The beer is brilliantly clear, rich Amber color. It is topped by a frothy, light tan colored head. In the aroma there are nutty caramelized automatic notes, a really wholesome, whole grain flavors and lots of brown bread notes.

The flavor is very nutty, lots of toasted malt, whole grain bread, browned, and a light, brown bread sweetness. There is a light herbal now here, a hint of a metallic note in the finish, as well as a bit of a carbonic bite, and a light how bitterness that is just enough to longer.

This is a really nice Oktoberfestbier. It is really hitting the spot right now.

Not anywhere as good as Dirt Wolf or some of their other beers. Just so-so for an Octoberfest. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[email protected], Tampere, Finland. Soft, balanced and simple. Caramell, sweet malts. Bit artificial earthy nuances. Balanced. Light body with medium carbonation. Overall, way too simple. But, no hops in American beer which is kinda positive. 4 2 2 3 7

Deep amber with a thin head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and yeast. Malty, smooth. Pretty nice.

Above medium carbonation. Malty but not as much as my preferred Oktoberfests. A bit thin and watery. Notes of caramel and toffee. No discernible bitterness to me. An OK fest beir but certainly not a stand out in the style. Lacking in character ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12floz bottle, BBD: 01.01.2018, $10 paid for a six-pack, pint glass. Appears copper in color with clarity and nearly no head. Butterscotch aroma is more pronounced than many octoberfests I've tried. Tastes like buttered toast, which is in line for the style. Definitely drinkable, but is below average for the style in my opinion.

oobawa (1927) - Tennessee, USA - OCT 2, 2017
Quality marzen, alluring in its sweetness yet not indulgent, mixing caramel and toffee notes with a nutty backbone and undertones of toast and crackers. Finishes with a hint of lager esters and a tiny spark of floral noble hops. Nose is a bakery in full swing, and the pour's lovely, deep orange-brown with a thick white head and minimal lacing. Texture is seriously creamy, carbonated just enough to keep the malts from growing unwieldy but smooth as hell. Very good festbier.

Tried via blind taste test, guessed 3.4 Oktoberfest...a heavy malty Oktoberfest.
