Had it on tap. Good to have Märzens back again. It’s a sweet, malty example. Very tasty, great fall beer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is deep bread crust, rich and robust..... one of the most impressive examples of malt depth in aroma. Appearance is dark copper crystal clear with bubbly head that dissipates slowly Taste is real deep complex malt, bright bread crust. A bit of tangy hopping but this is malt forward. An excellent example of the difference between malty and sweet.... as well as the toasty bread crust flavor found in well done lagers. Palate is creamy and smooth. Medium light and very soft. Overall a world class beer IMO. More of an Oktoberfest than Festbier. That said, maybe the best Oktoberfest I have had.... German or American. I got this six pack for $5.99... unbelievable. A near perfect example of one of the hardest to brew styles.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tap (Bier Bier, Helsinki)
Pale orange, keggy head. Sweet malty aroma. Full smooth palate, almost slick. Sweet malty taste, sticky. Bland and keggy. Not much aroma can escape the keggy head, and it messes up the mouthfeel too. Even lagers can be killed by keg.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had this from the bottle purchased at total wine. Made in PA. 5.6% alcohol but doesn't feel heavy. Amber color due to toasted caramel malt. German hops and very citrusy flavor with good topical German bitter flavor.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours bronze with a fast-disappearing head that leaves a tan ring. Aroma is caramel dominated by various german hops. Flavor is weird, with overcooked/burnt food taking the forefront. There are some caramel sugars and bready malt in the mix. Weird though. Smooth finish though.
