Enchanting and enlightening, this golden, frothy ale boasts an intriguing herbal aroma, warming alcohol esters on the tongue and light, but firm body to finish. Exotic spices add subtle notes to both the aroma and flavor. Strong, sensual and satisfying.

Pours golden yellow with a small white head. Spicy, yet sweet, aroma of clove, caramel and sweet malts with some booze. Taste is a combination of sweetness and spices: creamy caramel, clove, coriander, biscuits and sweet malts. Definitely boozy taste. Medium to full bodied, mild carbonation, average hoppiness balancing quite nicely. Perhaps a bit too sweet. This is one strong Belgian Ale.

From a fresh bottle, pours a thick golden color with lots of lacing, some thin white foam. Aroma of Belgian yeast and ester, with some funky tangy orange and spice. Flavor is predominantly a mellow understated Belgian yeast with a caramel malt base, along with some extra warm sugariness. Medium bodied, smooth, warming, not bad for a relatively mass-produced Belgian style, not as impressive or as authentic as other Belgian ales, but enjoyable. I particularly liked the stronger malty presence to this brew, along with the more predictable Belgian yeasty notes. Another quality brew from Victory.

Golden Amber in colour, big head and lacing all the way down the glass. Nose is of brown sugar, malts and cloves. Taste is fairly similar with a caramel\burnt sugar taste dominating similar to the likes of Leffe Brune, cloves, coriander and winter spice on the finish. Compared to Trappist beers this was a bit thin. Price Paid: £2 - 330ml bottle on clearance.

Bottle from Crafty Bottle, Lincoln. Slight hazy glow to this golden beer with a white head. Aroma is light yeasty fruity and a touch of honey. Taste is dominated by the sweetness. Medium body.

Nice slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet yeasty, candi sugar, light malts, yeast, minerals, fruit stones, grass, almond essence, hay, flowers, weeds, hints of citrus peel and spices. Taste is slightly sweet mineraly, weeds, candi sugar, minerals, bark, alcohol, paper, fruit stones, almond essence, light malts, metal tank, spices. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh metallic mouthfeel. Not really my cup of tea.

12 ounce bottle. Medium straw in color. Slight hint of malt. Very smooth for 9.5% alcohol beer. Hides alcohol very well. Above average for the style.

PowY (1043) - AUSTRIA - JAN 28, 2017
355 ml bottle. Pours a clear golden with a white head. The aroma is lightly yeasty, mainly with notes of pear. Full body with a medium carbonation and a heavy sweetness. The taste is malty, molasses, caramel, honey overripe pears. For me the sweetness is too dominant. 13 7 3 6 4

Hazy golden with white head. Banana, coriander and Belgian esters. Sweet, slick and spicy alcoholic finish. Great! Just enough coriander to keep it interesting.
