ours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of fruit, and some other hints, maybe some spices, maybe caramel. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and a hint of hops with a nice bittersweet finish.

Backlog rating. Had and enjoyed several bottles of this during the mid-Bush years primarily. Nice dark brown pour with lively carbonation, bottle conditioning still at work impressively. Heavy sweet malts at first in the nose, but then there are some fruits of both the dark and the bright variety. Full, somewhat lively mouthfeel. Some spice and generous bitter hops add depth and complexity to the flavor. More interesting and multifaceted than a lot of BSAs out there. Would be nice if Victory brought this back.

Skyview V, 11/11/11. Vintage 2003. Courtesy of Milkman Dan. Copper color with no head. Vegetal aroma. Definitely has an oxidized and papery flavor. Light corriander notes with some spearmint.

Date: November 11, 2011 Mode: Bottle Source: MN Gathering @ Skyview V 2003 vintage, which may have been a little too long to wait, had a not pleasant vinegar finish that negatively impacted my view of this one.

2003 Vintage (thanks MMDan) Plenty of time on this one. Amber pour. Has developed a bit of a cardboardy character to the aroma as well as fruity tones and coconut. Flavour is plum/cherry fruitiness, light caramel, woody hop. Starting to fade, but still interesting.

Bottle - 2003 vintage at MN Gathering @ Skyview V. Orange pour with a thin white head. Aroma is slight wood and caramel. Medium palate. Taste is definitely laid back with the age - nice caramel and slight citrus. Good stuff.

Bottle of the 2003, shared by Paul at the Blind Tiger’s Victory event. Pours a hazed almost clear orange amber with a medium to large beige head. Sweet caramel, candy, cough syrup, fruit, and oxidization like crazy. Creamy, more oxidized fruit, malt, old caramel. More oxidization and age, old malt. Interesting, but it’s peak seems long in the past.
