COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Perfectly blended with citrus, resin, floral hops, firm classic Victory German malt bill. This is refreshing and drinks like a session IPA without the bitter bite. Recommended.

Thin and clean tasting, hoppy and bright with an apple juice finish. This is a great example of a lite Pale beer, almost IPA in character but subdued. Clean and light with a bursting flavor.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Stone pint glass From: Holiday Wine Cellar Price: $19.99 for the 6-pack Misc.: Box said enjoy by March 10, 2013; Also a long and uninformative spiel about water on the bottle and not as much (really nothing) about the beer. Poured a honey golden, pale, clear color with two fingers of snowy, frothy white head. Healthy amount of thick, foamy white lacing on the sides. Good thick retention on the top as well that lasted throughout the pour. Smelled a sharp whiff of hops up front, somewhere between resin and citrus (grapefruit). The bitterness comes through unambiguously. Also lemon grass, hay and honey. Tasted the hops first like the smell. Got that mix of resin and grapefruit. Also some lemon in there. Cereal and light bread. Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Bitter finish. Just a really good pale ale. Will savor my other two in the Victory variety pack.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden/amber in color. Thin white head with good lacing. Aroma is citrus hops and a bit of malt. Crisp earthy hop bitterness, grapefruit citrus, and bready malt flavors. Medium body and carbonation. Finish is clean and dry.

Bottle poured a dark golden color with a thin off white head. Aroma has some citrus, pale malts, and resins. Mouth feel is light and the carbonation strong. Flavor has light bittetness, citrus rind, a fair bit of malt for a pale, and a lingering finish.

Citrus, mild caramel, floral, and fruit notes. Golden, clear, white head. Decent lacing. Full bodied, flavor like aroma, and lemon hints. Tongue zinger, dry, lasting high hop bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at the Watering Hole. Clear golden amber colour, white fluffy head. Aroma is hops, slightly resinous, but of cat pee and twigs. Taste is better, quite soft bitterness, citrus hop finish, bit of biscuity malt, but more fruity than malty. Slight funky sour creaminess at end. Quite nice taste to be honest.
