COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. Well be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, weve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, weve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

330ml bottle from Beer Cartel, Sydney. A clear copper-amber with a fading off-white, one-finger head. Malty sweet aromas of caramel combine with tea notes and a core of zesty citrus, orange and tropical hops. Medium bodied with a gently sparkling texture. Finishes drop and mostly hoppy - marmalade and lemon pith - but with a sweeter-edged pale malt quality to balance.

Amber, very slight hop haze, with small non-persistent white head. Grassy and piney hop aromas, with some orange marmalade notes. The deScription of yhe flavour on the can is quite apt - "...integrates a supportive malt base with herbal hop complexity, offering lemon notes and tea-like earthiness". Pretty much sums it up. Very light bodied, dry and highly drinkable. Really refreshing and enjoyable.

Pours golden amber with nice fluffy white head. The aroma strikes quite fast, even when pouring. Aroma pine, citrus, bread, bisket, oranges. The flavor is bisket, caramel, grassy, earthy, pine at the end. Body is medium with typicall german beer aftertaste. Overall very different, smells dif from what it taste, kinda like it.

Can into Lagunitas jar. Orange color, some quickly vanishing head, lemony aroma. This is a thin bodied ale, crisp and clean, and it manages to have a complex, piney, citrusy, hoppy orange flavor which is all its own. Not my favorite style, but something I will return to come summer. Assuming Im reading the date correctly, this is a pretty old can. Have to try a fresher one!

33cl @ bottle. Apa della victory. Non mi ha esaltato come altre birre del birrificio americano ma comunque una bevibilissima apa ambrata.

Pours amber with a large, lasting head. Nose shows grainy cereal-like malt along with grassy hops. Biscuity malt too. Flavours include more biscuity and bready malt along with some earthy, herbal and spicy hops.

For a pale ale its done really well. Nice heavy hops, but not ipa. Aroma is hoppy, and a tiny citrus lemon. Taste is grassy hops. Nice orange color. Good carbonation. Palate is even and smooth. Great representation of a pale. Tap.

May 6, 2015. On tap at Oliver Twist.
Cloudy orange with a creamy white head. Aroma is orange zest, pine, grass, toffee and a touch of gooseberries. Taste is light to medium sweet, light bitter. A light to medium grassy bitterness in the finish with some grapefruit and pine as well, toffee sweetness. Light to medium bodied, average carbonation.
A bit too old but still decent.
