COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in natures great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

Bottle, 22oz. A hazy golden ale with a dense two finger off-white head leaving lacing. Fruity aroma, citrus and orange peel, some banana and peaches, and a hint of peppery, chalky yeast. Its lightly warming on the palate, full bodied and lightly effervescent, semi dry. Citrus, orange zest, banana hints, pepper hints and bitterness. Lasting fruity finish with some chalky yeast hints. Quite nice, but a tad yeasty. 160409

0.65l bottle. This is a cloudy orange golden looking one, tons of small unfiltered particles floating about and with a nice big lasting and lacing head white head that sticks around. Like the fruity funky cheesy nose, quite original and different. Blood oranges, fermented pear juice and it has a woody sour undertone with yeast. Nice. It doesnt really taste all that amazing. Really old mushy cellar and earthy dust. Feels kinda flat, not on the carbonation but in the taste. A good amount of yeast here and it has a nice oily texture in the mouth. More bitter oranges, a little bit of wet moss and its light peppery and spiced towards the finish. Half the bottle down it grows on you a bit, but this is not mine kind of saison. 10.03.2016
