COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

Pours golden with a bit of haze. Big white head. Smells citrusy. Lemon and orange up front. Tastes- Mainly citrusy. Lemon and orange. A little but of spice but less than most saisons I have had. Mouthfeel-Crisp and carbonated. Overall- A very nice beer. I like a little more balance between spice and citrus in saisons whereas this beer seems pretty tilted towards the citrus but still a pretty enjoyable beer and at a great price.

(Bottle) Hazy yellow colour with big, frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with grass, apricots, white bread, hay, apples and a touch of incense. Fruity, malty taste with notes of white bread, hay, grass, apricots, apples, citrus, lemon, spicy yeast and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and quite spicy. Nice one.

So evidently the local store sells drink-by-2014 beers in single bottles and leave them for the fools. Being fools, we thought this one looked pretty and picked it up. Oddly enough, we don’t completely hate it. Though the belgian taste is still there, it’s accompanied by an almost brett-like taste, which to some is like a sour candy and to others like urine. It is possible that there is a beer that is supposed to taste like this, but I would not choose it on purpose. Probably better when it’s not 3 years past the due date, but surprisingly drinkable despite the funky funk.

Poured from the tap into a 20 OZ mug at the Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is a clear golden color with a large white head. The aroma is a sweet smell. The flavor has the traditional farmhouse flavor with a slight sour bite. an average saison.

BB backlog, Bottle with and care of Mike, pours a hazy straw gold with 2 finger white head. Aroma of bread malt, lemon peel, pepper, grass, and saison yeast. Taste was most of the same with herbs and other farmhouse notes. Finishes slightly bitter. We enjoyed this one from Victory.

Distance from an older bottle that has been kept chilled . Appearance is a dirty Amber and a nice head of average duration. Aroma is very yeasty, almost Brett like and some caramel malt and wet grain. Flavors like nose, but seems like some oxidation has taken place. Good carbonation in that helps a lot . Still not a bad beer.

Poured from a 650ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Rocky white head slowly fading over a next to clear golden body. Misty last pour. Spotty lacing down the glass. Farmyard and a touch of citrus on the nose. Herbal and mid-tart fruity flavours, hints of lemon, yeast and lightly dark spiced banana. Yeasty fruitiness to the ending. Drying palate. Fine bodied. Enjoying and varied saison (Tromsø 16.07.2016).

650 ml bottle. Slightly unclear golden with a white head. Aroma is light fruity, floral, spicy and soapy. Flavor is mild and smooth with light malt, some fruit, spicy yeast and some kind of woody dryness. Fine body and pleasant aftertaste. Nice one.
