Hop wallop is a cool story and this golden beer is alot of fun. This beer is bold and adventures. Not a late bloomer. Great aroma. chinchill (4993) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 22, 2015
(from notes) - served in pint glass
A - hazy yellow/orange capped with medium eggshell head. Head has modest retention. Ample, fine carbonation.
Aroma of citrus hops and malt. Mild aroma for style and taste.
T - "Hop Wallop"? Yes, but amply tempered with a generous load of caramel malt. Has bitter (lemony grapefruit) hop finish and aftertaste true to style. Pronounced citrus and pine notes to hops.
M - brisk and a bit tingly; medium body;
D - a good sipper, although I notice it is disappearing rather quickly; a good session beer too, but watch out for that 8.5% ABV which is not obvious via aroma or taste. Nordcore (1496) - Lyngen alps, NORWAY - NOV 18, 2014
Bottle 33 cl. Yellow, hazy with a white head. Soft hoppy aroma with some orange sence. Light bittersweet with a soft hoppy end. bb. 23.07.2014, tested 01.09.2014. slowrunner77 (12043) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 16, 2014
"no doubt i had a bad one, even though the date on the label had not passed...but the spoiled version is all i have to go on. too bad...Storm King was really good, and I just finished an Alesmith IPA & wanted to compare. This one smelled spoiled & skunky, although there was still a hint of the choice hops that were there, it actually looked good on the pour...even if the head was a little much. Body was nice too, but since it was bad, the flavor made it so i only wanted one swig. not available anywhere near Reno, so I’ll rerate if i ever find it again. Man...i’d planned on sampling Green Flash IPA, but this spoiled crap ruined my palate for the night! rerate from a spoiled 2.3... got a good batch this time. got a touch of skunk in the nose before the hops, but maybe it was in my head. it disappeared when i poured. thinner but smoother than i was expecting. quite hoppy and complex, but not a huge 2ipa, which i guess is both good and bad. solid, grapefruit hops. very very smooth. 9/09 same on tap." Rated based on notes taken 18 Jul 2011 -- A nice IPA. Hops are slightly underwhelming, mostly bittering. Not much flavor and aroma hops.

from a 33cl poured a hazy golden body with a nice creamy off-white head that staid some time. Aroma is wonderful, hops, candy, spices and flowers. Flavors of malts, floral, sweet and herbal hops, slightly spicy, peppery. Alcohol, bitterness, nice strong body. Nice strong complex flavors, long lasting bitter taste in mouth, very enjoyable. Great Brew. vikingguy (1103) - Carver, Minnesota, USA - JUL 11, 2014
Gold with big foamy head and lots of sediment. Resinous hop aroma. Taste- first thing noticed is the sweet fruity malt. Tropical fruit. Hops hit you next...piney and resinous. Just a tad soapy. Overall, very nice.

Some burnt toast bitterness up front with a quick bitter finish.

I had had this beer long ago in bottle form, and then recently had it on tap. I was quite disappointed with the tap tasting as I was remembering something much better. I have decided to give it another go, this time in the bottle form I remembered liking well.
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance - Pours a medium golden color with a huge white head. This was very different from the tap serving I had which had almost no head at all. The white billowy head sat with persistence for some time before fading to give a fair amount of lacing.
Smell – The nose is a bit on the lighter side with a base of caramel sweetness, buiscuit , and a medium citrus hop aroma. A very light pine is also present.
Taste – Up front there is a biscuit base that is mixed with some citrus hop flavors and a caramel sweetness. These flavors create a base for the brew as they are present throughout. More toward the middle the caramel intensifies and is mixed with a lighter bit of pine hop flavor. The caramel flavor then begins to lose ground and the citrus and pine surge at the end, leaving a pleasant bitter on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is on the creamier side with a moderate level of carbonation. Pretty good and pleasurable on both fronts with the carbonation exciting and the creaminess soothing the tongue thus allowing the hop flavors to bath the tongue a bit more.
Overall – Now this was what I remembered!! It was vastly better then my previous encounter on tap, which when looking back at the lack of carbonation may have been an end of the keg pour. This time I was much more pleased with my drinking experience as this brew is quite tasty and does have some very nice characteristics.

Bottle at NWAF Manchester 2012. Sparkling slightly hazy golden colour with a brght white head. Fresh hoppy aroma and flavour, peach, pineapple, fruity stuff, bit of spice. Fine work.
