COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop’s hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o’ barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the ’green gold’ he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of JCapriotti. Clear, deep golden. Fresh, hoppy aroma of pine needles. Medium body with some sweetish malt. Completely dominated by distinct aroma hops leaving a solid dose of bitterness. 291206

Herber, sandig, 8/9/9/9/11/9

Golden color. Delicate aroma of hops. Strong flavor, fll mouth, malty, with excellent hops, a lot of hop oils and sweet hop resins, sweet caramel and toffee, very long and aromatic final. Excellent.

Bottle at home - May’12. Pours a slightly murky gold with a half finger of white head. Floral and fruity hops on the nose, a little sweet malt and a puff of herbs. Hops up front in the taste but well balanced with caramel malts. Tropical fruits can be detected, mango and orange. Medium bodied with a light/medium carbonation with a bitter finish. Better on cask (for which I hold no review) but a good all round DIPA.

Twickenham Brewery tasting 08. Clear gold, thin white head. Thanks to some decent hops. It’s fine. But a bit metallic. It’s ok, a little disappointing.

22 oz. bottle, pours hazy golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of grassy hops, citrus, grapefruit and bready malt. Flavour of grassy hops, pine, citrus, bread, with a great lingering bitter hoppy aftertaste. I wouldn’t say this loves up to its name, but it’s a fine IIPA.

It’s about time I got a crack at this one! Golden amber colour. Zesty citrus hops and dark malts. Hoppy flavour, surprsingly lean body. Evenly balanced and with floral hoppiness. My type of Imperial IPA.
