UPDATED: OCT 4, 2005 July, 2003: Bottle. Malt whiskey colour. Darkly hoppy aroma with brown sugar, ripe banana and some citric qualities. Slightly sticky sweet malt relieved by the dark bitterness. The balance between malt and hops remains constant until very late in the finish when the malt fades. Tasty, but not exceptional. [3.3]
Sept, 2004: Bottle. <a href=Beer-Ratings.asp?BeerID=290&FanOfID=4383>T Big Face Off. BBE May 2004. Sickly old stale beer aroma. Very cardboardy and unpleasant. Heavy sweet flavours and heavy oily hops. I didnt enjoy this. [2.0]
Aug, 2005. Cask, GBBF. Too sweet, too hoppy - tastes strangely old. Not good. [1.8]

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2005 Very strong smell. Beautiful red pour in the glass. This beer has a unique bitterness which I really liked. It had a spicy taste to it which made it hard to resist. This is my second India Pale Ale and I am really starting to enjoy them. Great stuff.

Bottled. A nice cascade hop aroma, citrus and some pine needles. Spicy, earthy body. Obviously pretty bitter. A decent, if slightly one-dimensional beer.

Victory makes some damned good beers. This is one of them. Deep amber with a small white head. The aroma was a delight to the senses with big hops/citrus. Good, crisp feel in the mouth with just the right body and carbonation. The flavor was a powerful smack of grapefruit/hoppiness. Excellent. Party on.

Bottled. Good hop nose in the glass. Pours a nice Sierra nevade brown under an off-white head. In actual taste, though, hops are not as smacky as one would believe. instead, they start out understated, a nice peppery and grassy start. The toasty malts makes a nice sticky coating in the mouth, allowing the bitterness to linger and become more pronouced, until it finishes full strength. Part of my trade with DocLock.

Hoppy and serious. I had this cask in Exton PA and it was full of hop notes and a heavy enough body to keep it all together. Malt still managed to make an appearence at the end.

You can smell the hops coming at you as you tilt the glass! This is a great beer if youre a hop-head! Red copper colored beer with an off-white head. The citrus finish really makes me want to pour another.

If you love hops..... This Devils for you! I prefer a little more balance (like in APAs) but as far as this style, this is one of the best. Starts out blazing in the IBU department and finishes even stronger. I can get this and will trade for Stone APA!

On tap. Not bad, but a little too much of the Cascade hops. Has a serious grapefruit finish.
