Pours dark amber with a little off white head. Aroma is lovely, hoppy and sweet. The beer itself isn't crazy hopped, but it is still quite bitter. Good maltiness, some spice (clove?), and peppery notes. Finishes sweet. rabuc (143) - carlisle, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 16, 2004
since ipas are my favorite, you can guess that i loved this one. this one and troeg's hopback are the best! it poured a copper/orange/amber with an off white head. taste was a great spicey/hoppy flavor that was very satisfying. this one tasted better after each drink. it finished dry with a great hop bite. this is definitely one of my favorite beers. shameusburp (171) - Virginia, USA - FEB 11, 2004
Among my top 5 beers. I'm becoming more and more IPA friendly and Hop Devil started it all. Aroma is hoppy through and through. Appearance is Orange hue with a delightful head. Flavor is hoppy but not over the top hop followed by sweetness to clean the palate for the next sip. Overall one the best IPA's from one of best breweries in the world. leitrim65 (402) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 10, 2004
Amber colored with an off-white head that managed to float throughout the drink. Citrus and hops in the nose. Dry on the palate with hop flavors from start to finish, and a nice touch of caramel malt undertones. The finish is a subdued bitterness. Overall a nice drink. brownaler (663) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - FEB 9, 2004
Has a sweet, citrusy aroma with a chewy hop flavor from front to back having a nice, bitter finish. A smooth and tasty IPA from Victory.

Cloudy amber pour, nice off white head and lace. Malt aroma, and a pleasent citrus and floral hop accompany that. Very nice balance of malts and all kinds of hops. Floral and citrus hops mostly, but the finish has a nice bitterness to it. Medium bodied and a nice tangy palate. A fine IPA. HopsOrDie (687) - New Lenox, Illinois, USA - FEB 4, 2004
Nice citrusy aroma. The flavor didn't seem hoppy enough for something called Hop Devil. Very tasty but I don't think it lives up to the hype. beerlover82 (241) - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 4, 2004
My first real beer-- since I was so used to swill like Bud-- I found this overwhelming. But then I caught on. Appearnce is amazing--dark amber color, head is decent and foam sticks to the glass--aroma is of malt, and hops, hops and hops!!! Taste is very spicy and hoppy, pretty strong and body is medium to full But I think this is better on tap because the bottles don't seem to do this justice. A thirst quencher- perfect malt/hop balance; if you like pilsner beers and want something with more complexity and kick, you can't go wrong with this. axilla (962) - New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 2, 2004
A beer that needs no introduction!! This has been my go to beer for about a year and a half now. Still my number one. Reddish orange color. Aroma is citrusy. Flavor is hoppy with some pine and tangerine flavor. Big favorite of mine!!
