Pours out reddish in color.Hoppy aroma that has a strong hoppy flavor but does blend the malts rather nicely. This is the hoppiest beer I have had to date. Finishes bitter and long.Nice!! BeerSlacker (34) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 20, 2003
Deep red, blood/brick red hue. Big American hope nose. Finish is quite bitter, likely using high-alpha acid hops. Very little malt balance makes for a hop-head fantasy. Delightful beer, and a must for hop-heads. mullet (849) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 19, 2003
UPDATED: SEP 16, 2006 Beautiful copper colour with solid (yellow!) head and good lacing. Minty, spicy hop aroma with fruity (oranges, sultanas) and caramel notes. Flavour is dominated by hops - very nice - with the malt strong enough to balance. Not actually that bitter, however.
I reckon that the hops in this beer are concentrated too much around the middle-palate (ie. loads of hop flavour) but is lacking somewhat in hop aroma and especially in bitterness. The hops don’t taste all that American either. It’s a good beer, but not really what I was expecting. seuinoz (276) - Glen Ellyn, Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2003

Bottle. Pours a nice orange color, decent ivory-colored head with some lacing. Aroma is flowery but not as good as expected. Taste is very spicy and floral, which is a good thing, but to me it could be a little richer and more malty.
The bitterness is pleasant and lasts long after the sip, in fact long after the beer is gone.

This beer has a creamy beige head, that helps to show off a nice deep amber color. An aroma of floral hops. Hoppy tasting with notes of lychee, definitely American hops in this one. There is loads of hop flavor in this one, along with a pleasing bitterness. This beer was not as bitter as I was expecting, but it is very well balanced with a subdued maltiness. Well hoped but not overdone. Blends well with the other subtle flavours. Can't take the place of Two Hearted for me though. bierkoning (13674) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - AUG 10, 2003
Cask GBBF. Head disappears fast. Weird aroma: blackcurrant and peach, I can't exactly get my hands (or nose) on it. Loads of flavor. Malty, full bodied, almost thick, in fact. Loads of hops, licorice. Long fruity hopbitter finish. In fact a bit too much of everything. thedm (6319) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 8, 2003
This brew poured a small head of fine to large sized off-white mostly lasting bubbles that left an excellent lacing and a hazy uncarbonated light brown colored body behind. It had a strong hop aroma along with a medium hop flavor woth some malt and spice notes. scrontus (4) - York, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 6, 2003 does not count
Pours a beautiful red color. Wonderful I.P.A. Another winner from Victory.
