Black color with a slight tan head that settles quickly. Significant coffee aroma, lick sticking you nose in a bag of dark roast coffee. Bitter coffee and chocolate followed by a thin bodied lightly whisky influenced vanilla flavor.

12/11/2016 -- from notes: 750ml bottle, from Dutch's. Enjoy by 17/12/17. Shared with Steph. Pitch black color. Thin khaki head, leaving great thick ridges and webs of lace. Awesome big heavy coffee flavor (hazelnutty). Earthy. Dark chocolate. Nice oak and light vanilla character from the bourbon barrel. Big bitterness, mild bite to it. Some alcohol hotness on the back-end... Wow -- just looked at the bottle.. Didn't realize this was 14.3%! Drinks like an appropriate amount of alc. for that level though. No wonder it $18 or so. But I'm loving this. A great imperial coffee stout is one of my favorite things, and this is rocking it.. I'm fascinated by high-ABV beers that don't come off too sweet. My first imperession was that it reminds me a lot of Big Bad Baptist, without the overly-sweet heaviness of the last batch I tried had. This beer reminds me of what I remember BBB years ago tasting like. Moderate sweet here, but more dry overall. Bigger body, chewy like motor oil. Seems to be a little thinner than some of the thickest imp. stout's I've had but it's got a good texture. Very mild slickness on the palate leading to a drying finish. Awesome stuff. I plan on getting 1 or 2 more. Awesome with my sandwich (I put a fried egg on it this time). Steph liked it overall, but thought it was a little thin. fonefan (52351) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JAN 4, 2018

I don’t typically like bourbon or whiskey aged beers but this is definitely more coffee than bourbon. Very enjoyable.

Bottle shared by friendly people at Foeders. Black with small dark beige head. Bourbon, red fruits, sweet caramel, light toffee and coffee, sweet sugary notes, red currants, some grassy notes and alcohol. Quite sweet and boozy bitter. Over medium bodied. Big, rich and sweet. Very thick. Even so, abv is subtle. Good chocolate, coffee, molasses, roast aroma and flavor. Tasty tasty, but best if shared. can8ianben (1602) - State College, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 16, 2017
Pretty amazing - this one was done with One Village coffee, not mentioned on the label but offered by the roaster. It was epic. Dark and deep, lovely coffee notes
