COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Depth, complexity and richness occur when delicious ale ages in a barrel, just as friendship grows over the years. This stout was created in collaboration with our friends from Philadelphia’s Standard Tap and Johnny Brenda’s restaurants. Using their delicious hand-roasted JB’s Coffee, our bourbon barrels deliver a bold and robust, chocolate malt-tinged stout. We invite you to toast the Victory of friendship and beer with Java Cask!

Big, rich and sweet. Very thick. Even so, abv is subtle. Good chocolate, coffee, molasses, roast aroma and flavor. Tasty tasty, but best if shared.

Pretty amazing - this one was done with One Village coffee, not mentioned on the label but offered by the roaster. It was epic. Dark and deep, lovely coffee notes

Pours black with low tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, muscovado, light bourbon. Taste is roasty chocolate and coffee up front followed by a rich bourbon fiery and sweet finish. Rich and smooth body with soft carbonation.

Delicious. Strong aromas and flavors of oak, coffee, bourbon, chocolate with a small hop balance. Very malty. Smooth and full. Nice dark color with a thin tan head.

Bottle, opaque black beer, almond colored head quickly faded to a ring. Aroma of toasted malt, metal, molasses, bourbon, cookies, coffee. Taste is vanilla, bourbon, dark chocolate, coffee, brown sugar and molasses, cookies, oak, just a touch of smoke. Palate is pretty thick, not syrup though, carbonation moderate. I smell just a bit of moukdering leaves and mold? That ABV is well hidden here, but it goes straight to your head anyway. Great flavor, but a bit sweet overall.

Bottle from Weis Market Lewisburg. Pours black with a thick khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Big whiskey on the nose and tongue. The coffee comes through more on the palate. Hides it’s booze well. Solid.

750 ml bottle at home with the wife. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have nice roasted coffee, dark chocolate, barrel character, vanilla, roasted bitterness to the finish, very solid and carries the abv nicely.

Aromas of fresh brewed coffee, chocolate, vanilla, aged malts, bourbon, barrel wood, oak, toffee, roasted malts, caramel, raisins, figs, green peppers, foreign coffee, leather and dark wort malt. Pours black with a near non existent tan foam and subtle lacing. Taste brings intense roasted malts, chocolate syrup, dark cacao, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and toffee upfront. Mid palate leads way to massive barrel characteristics such as vanilla, oak, bourbon, barrel wood, leather, aged malts, leather and hints of coconut. Finishes very boozy with tons of bourbon and dark chocolate. Overall, this is a big beer with a very heavy barrel side to it. A rating.
