A 19th century-style ale, our Kennett Ale is brewed using English and German malts, brown sugar, esplette peppers, grains of paradise, and coriander. Its deep brown color and earthy aroma complement the sweet fruit flavors and slight peppery heat left on the tongue.

Labeled at bar as collaboration between Victory and Market Garden. Draft at Jackie Os. A rye like taste, sharp and bitter, yet none of the characteristics associated with hops. A musty taste, much like many English bottled beers. Unique and alot like the Dogfish beers that experiment with spices a take it or leave it style.

16 ounce pint - North River Tavern in Roswell, Georgia.

Appearance: Amber-hued body, some haze present, with a slim, near-white head. Coating lace on the descent.

Smell: Moderately toasty, lightly sweet-scented maltiness, a light fruitiness, fragrant spice notes.

Taste: Toasty, bready malts. Slight brown sugar character, sweetness. Estery fruitiness. A bit tangy. Spices and just a little, little bit of pepper flavor and only a slow accumulation of heat. Also, a little pinch from the alcohol. Drying, lightly fruity and spicy on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: An odd, not altogether enjoyable mish-mash of flavors.

Tap at Bier Market in Cleveland, OH. Pours a clear orange with okay retention. Spicy nose brings some mild vegetal broccoli and freezer vegetables. Taste brings husky grain, raw oatmeal. Mid palate hits some spicy pepper and vegetal character piling on. Ick.

Sample at Jackie Os on 4/21/13. Clear gold to amber pour with a thick off-white head. Malty sweet nose with notes of light banana, coriander and pepper. Malty flavor up front quickly turning to spicy coriander and sweetness before a peppery, bitter finish.

transparent amber, thick white lacing but head drops quickly to oily surface. Heavy esters riddle nose, peppery banana and grass. Ultra spicy flavor, heavy banana front with mid showing more pepper and pumpernickel before doughy, fairest diacetyl finish. Spritzy body accents esters
