Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is very faint...light roast and rye with a very slight malty sweetness. Flavor is lightly sweet and roasty malts...notable rye...kinda like pumpernickel. Mouthfeel is full and silky with a lingering dry rye finish.

Draft at blind tiger. Pours a deep brownish boy with thin off white lacing. Aroma is sweet malts, paper, wood and light roast. Draft at Churchkey. Rich mud brown pour with solid head. Nose and flavor marked by beautiful coffee and spruce hop hints, rye spice components, and bitter chocolate. Smooth and drinkable. I like.

Several 10oz pours at the Big Hunt. Pours a transparent, cola brown with some soft white head. Nose is malty, spicy, rye, crackers, bread, a little citrus. Barcade, Philadelphia tap: Pours a dark brown body. Aroma is rye and malts with a chocolatey touch. Taste is somewhat sweet. Has good many notes of rye malt. Body is really full and flavour is as well. ’Tis a grand session ale.
