COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

Soy sauce and fig aromas feature in the savory-infused fruitiness. Tomato, wood, clove, rubber, hops and a bit of wheat all poke through. Beer fizzes over the lip of the bottle. It appears a clear, bloody amber. Clove is more apparent when drinking. Fair bitterness. The flavour is well-rounded and hits all of the tongue. Full body. Slick and creamy. Hops linger on tongue along with a clove-infused sweetness.

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Two months past the best before date. Pours hazy amber with a load of floaters and a small off-white head. Aroma is toffee, banana, phenols, light spiciness. Taste is sweet, slightly boozy, vanilla, caramel, wheat.

12 oz. bottle from Dutch's, purchased in 2014. Best enjoyed by 19 August 2015. Whoops. Didn't see that until tonight. Anyway, it pours a hazy chestnut color with a big off-white head that settles unevenly. Notes of toast, bananas, brown sugar, earth, leaves, chocolate, dried fruits, and wheat. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet, relatively clean mouthfeel for the style. But that could be the age.

Draught @ Roasthouse, Frederick, MD. Pours clear orangeish amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with notes of caramel and touches of grain and hops. Sweetish flavour of malt, banana and yeast, with sourish, grainy notes and bitter touches of hops. Dryish and acidic aftertaste with rough and spicy notes. Very decent.

355ml bottle (8.7%) shared with Stuartyboy at home on 12 Aug 2017, from Good Spirits Company, West Nile Street, Glasgow (bb 12 Aug 2017): sweet toffee, earthy aroma, amber brown with a thin lively cream head, caramel, toffee, fruity flavour, viscous, moderate fizz.

16 oz. on tap at brew pub. I can not understand the high ratings on this beer. Mild aroma, some malts. Bitter taste, malty. Smooth mouthfeel, I thought that the carbonation was too high and it was filling. Mediocre at best, my least favorite Victory beer yet.

Bottle from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer. Cloudy dark orange brown, reasonable head. Big malty aroma. Sickly sweet vanilla malt flavour. Strong sweet alcohol aftertaste. Too strong and sweet for me.

Clear deep amber hue with noticeable floaties and a lasting ivory head. Bready saison like aroma with some mild fruity esters and a semisweet dark wheat tone. Smooth mellow flavor that’s dark wheaty, slightly fruity, has a little kiss of orange and clove, with a smooth booze phenol warmth at the bready sweet end. Not shabby, but there’s too many floaties that I’m concerned over.

Experten: "Nyanserad, kryddig smak med liten sötma, inslag av aprikosmarmelad, sirapslimpa, kanel, kandisocker och pomerans." Amatören: "Jag kunde inte *hick* ha sagt det bättre *hick* själv!"

Pours clear amber, very little foam. Sweet autumn fruits aroma, bit of sugary and frostbitten pears, sweet and with a bitter edge. Taste is creamy, sweet and has some pumpkin spices for some reason. Small alcohol kick there as well but nothing too serious. Decent example of the style, malty, drinks easier than it should. Not overly sweet, which is a good thing in my book.
