Draft at capones during his black Friday event with Vinny and Bill. Pours a deep black body with thin white frothy lacing. Aroma is light malt, very restrained overall. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet caramel. Overall very plain. No red wine accents. User37895 (3085) - - NOV 22, 2012
From bottle directly from the brewery via pops. The pour was light brown mahoganey colored, very thin off white to tan colored head. The aroma was oak, vanilla, chocolate. The flavor followed, the oak and vanilla almost leading you to think a sticky bourbon finish was coming. Instead, tannic, acidic, clean finish, fruity red wine flavors, sort of non-optimal in terms of flavor blends/combinations..... but interesting and better than bourbon barrel aging beers. Mouthfeel was medium with a dry finish, low to medium carbonation. Thanks, pops! boxofrane (2559) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 22, 2012
Bottle from the brew pub. Pours clear deep red with no head. The aroma has a lot of sour wine notes. The taste has some dry red wine notes up front with a little malty run at the end. Goodgrief (2082) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - NOV 22, 2012
Shared graciously by eaglefan538’s dad. Roasty and acidic from red wine. The oak is also very prevalent. Not sticky or cloying or overdone on anything. Well crafted. Happy Thanksgiving! kimjongill (207) - - NOV 21, 2012
Had from tap at the release. Looks okay, but i expected it to be a bit darker. Great aroma focused on hops and red wine. Tastes like Baltic thunder that someone poured red wine into. Not much oak our other complexity which is a disappointment. Ended up not even getting a bottle.
