Draft at Blue Dog. Pours hazy gold with white splotchy head. Nose is dry floral Saazy hops, pale malt, mild fruit. Tastes crisp, with the flavors in the nose, and a smooth finish.

I love Victoryís special release Pils, and I love their use of the Tettnang hop, so I was not surprised to love this one. Clear intense gold, with a large vanishing white head that leaves very little lace. Nose is intensely malty and intensely hoppy; taste follows the nose. The Tettnang hops used in this beer produce a spicy note that makes the beer a little less floral or a little less grassy than I expected from a Pils, and the beer was indeed intensely hopped. I served a growler to Chinese friends, who agreed that (i) they did not know that their industrial Tsing Tao was in any way related to a real Pils or Lager and (ii) this was great but took some getting used to and (iii) this was not going to replace Tsing Tao or Harbin in China any time soon.

Tap at Victory. Clear effervescent straw with thicker white, 360 lace. Sheety. Huge lace. Mild cidery nose. Taste is tangy, grassy, with less dough and more of a watery mouthfeel. Feels inferior to the Meisenhardt pils variants. Still super grassy but more yellow apples and more nut skin bitterness. Not as quenching. Palate playoff is lacking. Still awesome and aggressive, but less perfect. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Iím not a huge fan of the pils but overall it was fine...looked identical to all the other ones in the sampler but Iím in a good mood today so Iíll give it a reasonable score.

Pours gold with a white head, left the best lacing of all the pils. Aroma is grass and citrus. Taste is bittersweet with almost astringent like qualities. Light and very easy to drink, enjoyed second best in the Tettnangs pils series after Dietmannsweiler.

Draught at the BrewPub: Aroma of grain, citrus, dough, and light grass. Poured pale yellow/gold in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, white head that lasted throughout. Clear to very slightly hazy. Sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is light to barely medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of Pils malts, hops, grass, lots of grain, and a hint of citrus. Light body. Dry texture. Soft carbonation. Pils malt, grain, grass, finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, and dry.

lightest gold color, wispy white head, effervescence between miss 1 and 4. Soft flavor, light grain and vitamin c, Body more full than strass, very barky grain, earthy, massive hay, grass, dough and lightly floral resin emerge in finish, moderately dry but considerably juicy, oil still lingering on tongue, bit more vitamin c than desired.

Golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of lemon, toast, citrus, and light grass. Taste of toast, lighter toffee notes, citrus, and lemon.
