This beer is the resolution, the final act, of our old brew house. Replaced by a new, German-built brew house this October, the old Century served us well, and deserved a chance to live its glory one last time. It has done so in Resolution Porter. Brewed to the Baltic porter style that is essentially a variant of the imperial stout style, Resolution Porter features 7 malts for rich depth of flavor. Characteristics of dark cherries and oak are apparent, but tempered by lager fermentation and cold aging. Hoist a glass of this extremely limited lager as you draft your New Year's resolutions. Malts: 6 imported, German malts and British roast barley Hops: 3 German and British varieties of whole hop flowers Alcohol by Vol. 8.3%

on tap at greylodge - Medium body sweet porter. Aroma was alomst fruit like - blueberries and dark cherries. Flavor was sweet at first, medium body, very low bitterness. However, it finished with a strange dryness or chalkiness on the back of the tounge that seemed to last a long time.

On tap at Victory. Only the second Baltic porter Ive had, but Im really starting to like this style. Its interesting to see a lager yeast produce something interesting and complex. Interesting style.

Deep brown-red, nice head, thin and creamy mocha color with good lacing. Nose is roasty with a bit of cinnamon, lots of licorice. Taste is roasty and very smoky, again more licorice. Finishes dry and mildly nutty. Definitely improves as it warms, hops wake up as it nears room temperature. Thanks to Seamus Burp for this one.

Aroma of roast, chocolate, and a slight coffee. Flavor is bitter roast, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, chocolate, and a slight coffee. This beer has to warm to realize its potential. I only wish I had been a bit more patient.

Thanks to the manager of Victory brewpub for allowing me to take a growler back to VA. My first impression was a Storm King but a porter. Its extremely smooth and drinkable.

Sampled at jeffc666s gathering, compliments of Shaemus_Burp. Clear dark brown with ruby edges and a light brown head. Roasty coffee nose with a good dose of hops. Taste has a bunch of roasted malt along with notes of chocolate, dark fruit, pipe tobacco and more hops. Gets more flavorful as it warms...Roasty finish with a touch of alcohol. Very, full, round and creamy on the palate, just awesome. I loved this.

Thanks a bunch to Shaemus_Burp for bringing a growler of this one to my party! Opaque black body with a firm light tan head. The aroma is strong licorice and dark choclate coverd cherries. The flavor is very roasty with chocolate and cherry coming through pretty strong. As it warms a good dose of piney hops comes forward. Medium bodued smooth and rather dry. Pretty interesting stuff.
