on tap at greylodge - Medium body sweet porter. Aroma was alomst fruit like - blueberries and dark cherries. Flavor was sweet at first, medium body, very low bitterness. However, it finished with a strange dryness or chalkiness on the back of the tounge that seemed to last a long time. Jonathan3584 (323) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - MAR 26, 2005
On tap at Victory. Only the second Baltic porter Iíve had, but Iím really starting to like this style. Itís interesting to see a lager yeast produce something interesting and complex. Interesting style. MilkmanDan (1943) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - FEB 8, 2005
Deep brown-red, nice head, thin and creamy mocha color with good lacing. Nose is roasty with a bit of cinnamon, lots of licorice. Taste is roasty and very smoky, again more licorice. Finishes dry and mildly nutty. Definitely improves as it warms, hops wake up as it nears room temperature. Thanks to Seamus Burp for this one. Taste is slightly hopped with chcolate notes, licorice, roasted malts, and light coffee. Body is medium with moderate carbonation. Light smoothness. Finish is cocoa, bittersweet chocolate, light fruit and hops. jeffin7 (613) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - FEB 7, 2005
Aroma of roast, chocolate, and a slight coffee. Flavor is bitter roast, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, chocolate, and a slight coffee. This beer has to warm to realize its potential. I only wish I had been a bit more patient.

Thanks to the manager of Victory brewpub for allowing me to take a growler back to VA.
My first impression was a Storm King but a porter. Itís extremely smooth and drinkable. jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - FEB 6, 2005
Sampled at jeffc666ís gathering, compliments of Shaemus_Burp. Clear dark brown with ruby edges and a light brown head. Roasty coffee nose with a good dose of hops. Taste has a bunch of roasted malt along with notes of chocolate, dark fruit, pipe tobacco and more hops. Gets more flavorful as it warms...Roasty finish with a touch of alcohol. Very, full, round and creamy on the palate, just awesome. I loved this. BuckNaked (1230) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - FEB 6, 2005
Bottle sampled at jeffc666ís B-day gathering 2/6/05: Thanks to shaemus_burp for this one. Dark, near black body with a small tan head. Aroma is chocolate, charred chocolate, alcohol, fruit, fennel, pear, apple, and some nice hop notes when swirled. Taste is charred chocolate, hops, grapefruit, dark roasted malts, spicy yeast, pear, apple, grains. Very sticky and syrupy. Medium body. jeffc666 (1984) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - FEB 6, 2005
