Deep amber pour with a thick sticky white head. The nose is fairly phenolic. Softly sweet with a light beechwood malt over a bit of wheaty spiciness. Dark malts and some toast and toffee. Served on drat at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy copper color with a medium creamy offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, toffee and a moderate smokiness. The taste is very smoke forward, but its not overbearing, along with nutty notes, caramel, berries and citrus. Medium bodied. Quite a nice beer. On tap at Rattle n Hum. Dark opaque reddish brown. Very bubble gummy mild smoke banana aroma. Very fruity cherry plum with smoke tobacco wood and gummy finish. Pretty decent attempt at an esoteric style. Much appreciated.

Tap at RNH. I guess this is supposed to be a smoked dunkelweizen. Pours a hazed almost murky dull woody brown/amber with a decently lasting off white head. Aroma is light smoked malts, meaty, with light phenolics, and moderate fruity banana and light apple esters, sweet malts, wheat, and sweet honey. Flavor is also big and sweet, slight slickness with smoked meats light campfire, big esters, some phenols and sweet sticky wheat malts, doughy and a bit slick in the end, with more smoke. Tap at RnH. Golden-amber pour with standard white head. Aroma of oak chips, salami, and vanilla. It’s a great nose that balances smokiness with soft sweet notes. Flavor is a similar mix of oak and vanilla with salami in the background. Soft yet meaty mouthfeel. Surprisingly gentle with moderate lingering smokiness. Draft. Pours medium amber with an off white head. Smoky/ropey aroma with some sweeter malty notes. The flavor has a great smoky burlap note with a light malty sweetness. Nice.
