COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the tradition started by the monks of St. Francis of Paula in 1634 comes this warming beer of rich heritage. A dark, rich lager of sublime complexity and character, St. Victorious is created from multiple German malts. Laborious decoction mashing yields the choicest elements of the malt. Long, cold aging mellows the strong temperament of this subtle beer. Celebrate the end of winter with a warming draft of St. Victorious Doppelbock!

Draught, 7.8%. Sweetish fruity aroma. Cloudy dark red brown colour. Unstable head. The flavour is fruity at first. Turns nicely sweet with a hint of alcohol to balance. Good, sweet dark fruits. Spicy, almost herbal hop flavour. Clean finish. Better than many German Doppelbocks.

Ratman197 (14842) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 4, 2007
Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of molasses, dark fruit, sweet malt and a hint of spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth.Flavors of sweet malt, brown sugar and spice with a smooth lingering bittersweet finish. Not bad but a big dissappointment for the price.
