With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. More flavor than mere words can adequately describe. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

Bottle. Pours a dark brownish black colour with a massive pale brown head. The nose is a blend of super bitter hops (with notes of lemon, pine, resin and mint) and a ridiculous amount of roasted/burnt malt (coffee beans, dark choklad and some soil). Loads of acidic notes both from the hops and the malt. The flavour is of burnt malt - burnt pancakes, coffee beans, cocoa beans/really (really!) dark chocolate and burnt sugar - and very bitter hops with notes of citrus fruits, mint and resin. Some sweetness. Too much acid in the taste if you ask me. Pretty nice and round mouthfeel which (unfortunately) disappears in a cloud of bitterness. Salty finish with some peppary alcohol. There is no doubt, this is a a good beer. Its just that Im so effin tired of super hoppy imperial stouts...

335ml bottle from local Alko, Viikki. This skilfully made brew reminds me of saying: The few who do are the envy of the many who watch. - Jim Rohn. Flawless brew.

Bottle. Opaque Black in colour. Very Malty; roasty/burnt malts, dark bitter chocolate, espresso coffee, caramel malts. Very Hoppy for an Impy Stout; citrusy and piney oily hops. Fairly big aggressive bitter citrusy hop hit which balances (nearly overpowers) the roasty/burnt malts. An Imperial Stout for hop heads. Good Impy Stout! (2010-11)

15/20 strange beer has the initial taste of an IPA, then it becomes quite complex like a stout before a chocolatey bitter finish. Unusual, weird, not sure I'd have again ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark brown almost black, opaque, with foamy brown head. Aroma: intense dark malts & roasted grain, supported with dark fruits esters. Flavor is similar, with intense. Roasted grain note, dark malts, which takes on coffee, bitter dark chocolate, supported with hop flavor, which takes on floral, with some spiciness. Body is full, texture almost creamy, carbonation is moderate.

Bottle. Aroma is dark chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, coffee, hints of dark red plum. Black, small beige head. Medium+ sweetness, medium bitterness, taste, dark malts, coffee, dark bitter chocolate, roasted malts. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, long finish with lots of bitterness and roasted tones, some lingering sweetness. Nice, but too heavy bitterness.
