Growler, Shenandoah Throwdown. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold with a small fizzy white head. Pretty similar on the nose as the Spalt Pils, though a little more subdued and subtle. The flavor is not quite as bright or bitter, the malt seems a little less in the fore, a touch of light DMS? Mouthfeel is a touch clingy with fizzy spritzy carbonation. Still a little doughy. Decent, but not as bright as the Spalt Pils. maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 24, 2010
On tap at TJ’s Restaurant on 09/23/2010. Also called Braumeister Pils, but specifically indicated to be Strisselspalt. Hazy golden body with a small white head. Floral and spicy hop flavor with a dry finish. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.

Growler at Shenandoah Throwdown 2010. Pours a slight hazed golden - maybe a half srm darker than the spalt- still nice white head and lace. Aroma is earthy, leafy grass, with a decent bell peppery kick, fresh bready pils malt, slight dust and almost a hint of smoke? Flavor is slight fruity, still herbal, grassy and earth, with toasty doughy malts, crackery light pils, and a mostly clean finish with a hint of chalk. Lost a touch of carbonation in the growler though. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - JUL 8, 2010
Growler courtesy of Ryan & Co., Shenandoah Throwdown. Pours a bright golden-to-copper color (slightly darker than the Spalt); reasonable clarity with light effervescence; creamy, fine-bubbled white head with great retention and lacing; nice pour! Kind of a bland aroma, with not nearly as much hop character as the Spalt; lightly minerally and a touch stale, but nicely dry at least. Medium-light body; medium-high carbonation; lightly creamy, pleasant feel if a touch lighter carbonation that I’d like; very mild, slightly slick Pils malt core; mild bitterness, lightly minerally, but again very nondescript; not as dry or crisp as the Spalt; basic, tasty, toasty Pils. Medium finish of toasty malt, light sugar, and just a touch of minerals. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 29, 2010
Growler courtesy of ryan and brainlair sampled a few times at Shenandoah Throwdown. Even though in the Braumeister Pils entry it says to aggregate all Braumeister Pils varieties into one rating entry, I agree with ryan that this should be a separate entry. It has a much more complex character and significantly better nose than the normal Braumeister Pils on tap at Victory.

From the growler it pours a gorgeous cloudy yellow with a lively, dense, rocky, bright white head that has excellent retention and baby lace. Raw hop cone, zesty lemon, soapy hops spring forth in the nose. Body is dry hoppy, herbal hoppy, soapy but not overboard soapy. Very crisp and drying. Just excellent.
Crisp, smooth pilsner. Usually alters between different hops, tettnang, spalt, hallertauer, and saaz. Right now they’re making it with a French hop called Strissle and spalt select.
