COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed locally at the Victory Brewery in Chester County, the Summer of Love Ale is a golden ale made with pale malts, German hops and Brandywine River water. This specific style of beer was chosen because it has a broad appeal and will be accessible for casual beer drinkers, but will still retain exciting hop notes.

The brew has a vibrant and refreshing pale color derived from its lean and refreshing malt body. And the initially floral aroma of hops segues into a well integrated, refreshing hop dryness of European heritage.

Yellow /gold, foamy white head with decent lacing. Serious grapefruit in the nose. Sweet malt across the tongue supported by a medium body. The middle to the end is accentuated by a nice, but not overpowering, hop bitterness. Finish is hoppy, but balanced. Really nice beer.

Pours a clear yellow with a nice white head. Citrus aroma of grapefruit, lemon, grass and orange. Taste is not quite as citrus as the aroma. It still contains a good deal of these impressions, but it has more of a hoppy character and has a sort of peppery bite. Lemon flavor stands out among the citrus. Light in body and thin in texture with a bitter finish. Very crisp to drink. Perfect for summer.

Bottle. Pours straw yellow with a finger of white head that hangs a bit, leaves a little lacing. Aroma is pretty flat but has a little hay scent. Taste is pretty light and resembles a kolsch.but has a little bitterness on the finish. This is a little over-hyped in my opinion but very drinkable for the summer.

Tap at Victory. Clear, pale yellow with ample white head. Smell is immediately spicy/fresh hops with that slightly skunk/cat pee (in a good way) characteristic, like the hops in NB’s Ranger. Taste is hops up front with a nice, smooth, slightly sweet pale malt flavor and a silky but firm hop bitterness. None of that industrial, added on bitterness that seems more and more common. Dry finish. This is an excellent offering from Victory.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2012 draft at The Kitchen Upstairs. lightly hazed gold body with a white head. medium-light bodied, dry, prickly and bitter throughout with soft carbonation and not-so-soft grain husks. noble hops are appropriately pungent and grassy with earthy spice and tingly phenols and acids. dried egg shell yeast character is a little too bold for my tastes, but otherwise this presents itself as a well-hopped golden/pale ale with german-influenced hop character. too astringent from a high hop rate, dry body and no lagering. reminds me a lot of the American-hopped Hungarian lager "Keserű Méz", funny enough.

Bottle, light golden color, little head. Aroma is slight floral/citrus, grains, lemon. Light body, slick texture. Ave carbonation. This is pretty smooth, not much flavor, but pretty smooth. Thats about it.

Pours clear gold, with short white head. Scent is strongly malted, and hops. Taste is grapefruit, grass, baby aspirin and cereal. Hops have a nice bitter. Decent, just not overly impressed.

Draft at Gingerman. Bready, crackerish malt profile. Lemon in aroma and flavor. Kind of Kolsch - like. Finishes dry and lean, well attenuated. Nice summer chugger with some body and flavor.
